hiii! i just got this brochure for this program… i’ve never heard of it before but it definitely looks veryyy interesting. my parents are really into me applying and hopefully going.

but i’m not sure… i mean, i doubt i’ll get in. i’m at a really good private school and i’m struggling to get average grades i have nothing close to the other posters GPA’s (although my school doesn’t calculate GPA) but i’m wondering-- how did this program find me? hahah. is it the type of program where people get recommended from teachers or something?

i’m quite confused. :)

And i’m not sure whether doing this program or doing community service in Thailand would be better!! ahhhh! I wish I had time to do both. What do you think? (That is… if i get into this)

I just now found out that I actually have a college counselor (school doesn’t tell us anything…ugh) so I might meet with her to see if she can send it off instead of my regular counselor, who hates us. agh.

I received a brochure through the mail today. This program looks excellent. My only concern is the price. There is no way I can afford this program. I’m still struggling to save for just a car. My family does not have financial stability either. There was no mention of financial aid in the brochure or online; someone here mentioned it though.

I’m wondering how much aid could I really receive? I definitely have the need.

Also grade wise. My w gpa is around a 4.5? un w I’m not sure around a 3.9 or 3.8.

I’m doing full time dual enrollment so I’m done with high school in the middle of my junior year. I’m now taking classes at a nearby state college. By the time I graduate high school I’ll have my associates. Haven’t taken any ap classes I chose dual enrollment over ap because I didn’t have to pass any test at the end of the course just to get the college credit.

Anyways what do you think my chances of getting in are? I don’t have much money to put in lol

oh and I’m going to send in my request for an application soon

I was wondering if it’s too late to apply. How many people do they accept? (I’m currently a junior.) And is the application process long? After sending the application request form, will they sent a financial aid form along with it?

^ It’s definitely not too late to apply; it’s rolling admissions, but the “deadline” is I think the end of April? something like that.
I’m not sure how many they accept; it’s pretty much “first come, first serve”, but the process is not long at all.

I don’t remember getting a financial aid form along with the app, but someone mentioned before that they do give financial aid; merit aid, i believe.

Just curious, what state are you from and do you attend private or public high school? Can I ask your unweighted and weighted GPA? I am going to send in my PAVE packet for consideration tomorrow and wondering where I stand compared to someone who has already been accepted into PAVE. Fair question, right? I read on another thread that they only take 175 students into the program. Your thoughts?

^^^^^^
I go to a public school in MD and I just got accepted yesterday. I have like a 3.9 UW, 4.6 weighted. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. From what I’ve heard, it’s not that selective

i still have to talk to my college counselor (1 week in counting lol)
but,
did you guys all do your science and math teacher for the recommendation?
my science teacher sucksss at doing stuff in time ( i still haven’t gotten one of my tests back that i took like a month ago… which is okay because i don’t want it back)
i know my math teacher will write one heheh. but im nervous about my science teacher.
thanks! :)

I actually just asked my math teacher and I intended to ask my history teacher as well, but PAVE sent me an acceptance before I’d even asked her for the recommendation!

I asked my math teacher who I’ve had for 3 years now and my bio teacher who I had for two years. However I received my acceptance before PAVE could have possibly been mailed the letters.
