Pave Vanderbilt Summer 2013

I just applied to pave and I wanted to know what activities do pave students participate in over the weekend

They had me send a picture and such in about a week of knowing.

Layna315, PAVE students do a lot over the weekend. Saturday mornings PAVE offers optional activities such as white water rafting, lazer tag, water park, etc. On July 4 they take the participants downtown to watch fireworks. Every Friday there is a bus that goes to the mall/movie theater (Nashville has a R-rating for 18+ though, which was a bummer). Otherwise, students generally hang out around campus. I went to the grocery store a lot on weekends. People went downtown (there is a killer ice cream place downtown). Some people on nights would go line dancing. A lot of times people watched movies in their dorm rooms and invited other PAVE students along. There really was never a shortage of things to do :)

Thanks for the information!

Like Persiandad, I did PAVE last year as well and I can honestly say it was the best experience of my life. To answer a few questions I saw, there is a lot of community service activities available and there easy to sign up for. If y’all have any other questions feel free to ask !

Hi everybody!
So I scored a 29 on my ACT and I’ve got two glowing recommendations along with DEP credits, but I won’t be able to mail it until next week. Will I still be able to get it?

I am going to pave 2013 too but it won’t let me join the Facebook page

@Jamtrousers - My standardized test scores were lower than that. I applied mid-March, was wait-listed, and then accepted in April. It’s not just scores but the application as a whole so if you’re letters of rec are good and your app is as well then you should be fine! The criteria changes every year but the earlier you apply the better.

Hi everyone, I just found this! I can’t wait to meet you all this summer! Just wanted to give you guys a heads up, I talked to the director last week about some other questions I had about the summer and he mentioned that they would be starting the waiting list very soon. If anybody is thinking about applying, make sure to do it ASAP! It probably took me 30 minutes to finish my app, letter, and give the stuff to my counselor and teachers. My sister did PAVE a few years ago and still raves about it. She still has tons of friends that do mini PAVE reunions during breaks. They had an amazing time and it really prepped them for college. I hope ours is just as amazing!!! June can’t come fast enough!

They told me that after the new year they get a lot more applications (sometimes around 500) so definitely the sooner the better!

woo pave buddies!!!

Have any of you guys that got accepted (like me) heard anything about we need to bring/ more info? Since I got the acceptance letter I have not gotten anything else in the mail :/

Hey guys, I’m applying right now but I’m a little worried about my chances now that I know they’re going to waitlist people… Do I still have a good chance of being accepted?

Depends on your stats, recommendation, etc.

People attending Join the Facebook group!!!

I’m applying to a few programs and I want to know my options before deciding but results come out in April (not rolling) and if I wait to apply to PAVE (they only give you two weeks-ish to respond?) then it might be full. Advice, anyone?

What’s the name of the Facebook group? I’d love to join it!

It’s PAVE program 2013
