So, one of my int. friend goes to Temple University. He once told me that he would transfer to different school one or two years later,
but recently he informed me that he would have to pay his scholarship back to Temple University if he wanted to transfer to other schools. I was very surprised. What kind of c*** is that?

I wanted to see if that was true(not saying he's lying but you know) but I couldn't find a written statement about such information.

Anyone who goes to/used to go/graduated Temple University, do you know anything about this?

that is news to me… if i learn more, i will post. actually, i see that yuor friend is international, maybe that played a role in the scholarhship pay back. is he a grad student?

i asked my son about it. he has heard nothing about paying a scholarship back if he transfers. and he never signed anything to that effect so i doubt such an arrangement would be binding. however, i don’t know all the rules for international students so maybe there is an issue there.

Hi,
I have to agree with Ctl987. I have never heard of anything like that and never signed an agreement with paying back my merit scholarship if I ever decide to transfer. However, there might be special rules and regulations for transfer students since their attendance does play a role in them getting a visa to the U.S. (I’m assuming, not sure)
