Paydeposit.binghamton.edu

My daughter applied EA and was deferred.

Sometime back people were posting that if you could pay a deposit at paydeposit.binghamton.edu. When we tried that several months ago, it said we were not eligible to pay any deposits.

Now, when we log in and tells us we are eligible to pay deposit for Fall 2011.

Does anyone know if that means she is going to be accepted?

Kathy

I just checked whether I could pay my deposit, and I cannot. I have not been accepted, so being able to pay your deposit should mean your daughter was accepted. However, of course, take things with caution and wait for the letter before paying money rashly.

I was accepted as a transfer student and am able to pay but from what I understand this is not a guaranteed way to check for acceptance. Apparently there have been cases where it has said you can pay and students have been rejected and vice versa.

hope this helps…
Me n my friend both applied, i got an acceptance through e-mail and he did not.
When i check my account, i am eligible to pay, but my friend isn’t.
So may be if u r able to pay only if u r accepted, n it makes sense too.

Hi, there. I just checked and it appears that I am eligible to pay the deposit. I was also deferred for EA, but I have yet to receive any sort of notification from Bing, indicating an acceptance or anything of the sort. I also would like to know if this eligibility business is any indication of acceptance.

Hey, I’ve received no response from the school but I’m eligible to pay the deposit. Would be great if I was accepted though.

you are accepted. I used the same method last year.

Applied RD. Got a “Go Green” promo email from Bing, yadda, yadda.
BUT, there was a small “PayDeposit” tab I clicked on, redirected, had to enter my userID & password, says you’re eligible to pay deposit!

No acceptance email or snailmail, yet.

To those that are able to pay your deposit, which school did you apply (Harpur, Watson, Decker, Public Affairs, Mgmt, or Ed.)?

Harpur undeclared UG

Harpur undeclared UG as well.

Same, Harpur undeclared UG. Friend checked and wasnt eligible to pay.

This is strange. Do you guys see a trend going here or what? SoIR, I don’t mean to be nosy, but do you happen to know what your friend applied to?

Hey xAesthetic, she applied to Harpur probably undeclared as well. I think the people who could login are acceptees and Bing might just be sending out Harpur undeclared’s at a later time unlike the other schools/majors.

Harpur as well.

So I’m guessing people who aren’t eligible yet, more than likely, won’t be accepted.

That seems like a pretty steep conclusion you’re jumping to

Ok, so last night I checked and could not log in. Today, I was able to log in and got the message that son is eligible to pay deposit…so I’m sure he is definitely in. I am also pretty sure, however, that he applied to the Business school. He was accepted to the Watson Engineering school in the computer science program. Was there an option on the application for a second choice if they couldn’t put you in your first choice? I’ll have to try to find a copy of that application.

I think AASupreme was accepted to a different school after being deferred, too

Eh, Binghamton has their way of being quite contradictory with their words. (They claim decisions are ONLY mailed, not emailed nor checked by calling; obviously, this is not the case)
I also remember all the acceptances, for early action people, coming during Christmas Eve, and all the deferment letters coming after the holidays.

NYmama, there was definitely an option to choose two schools, with the latter school representing an alternate school in case the first one was full, at least there was on the SUNY app.
