Hi! I'm stuck in this situation where I got accepted to one school and rejected at another. My parents just pushed me to send in an appeal at the school I got rejected to, hoping I might get in, however, I have really low hopes of getting into this school. I want to send in my deposit for the school I was accepted to because I would get better housing, etc. Could I send in the deposit for that school, since I know for sure it's where I'm going as of now, and the not go if I possibly get into the other school?

You’ll lose the deposit, but sure. Happens all the time.

Sure. In effect it’s just like what kids on a wait list do. If you get off the wait list you call the first school and say sorry. Usually it means you lose your deposit.

What you’re not allowed to do is send in 2 deposits and figure that you’ll decide later in the summer which one you’ll really go to. But that is not what you are doing here.
