I have often heard that companies will pay for your MBA. Is this true and if so, what type of companies are we talking about here? Am I correct in assuming that if a company pays for your MBA that you are obligated to go back and work for them.

Some will do. Some won't. It depends on the company and their willingness to sponsor you (ie how much they like you, how much they want you back). Some companies will pay for it and expect nothing in return, some will want you to come back for a # of years. It just varies.

Many companies that offer to pay for your MBA expect you to get your MBA in a part time program.

Certainly one shouldn't expect the large IB firms to pay for their analysts/associates to get MBAs, right?

If you get a good ib job the loans will be a blip.

Business school loans are huge. They are not a blip for anyone, particularly since you will make too much money as an investment banker to qualify for federal tax deductions of the interest on your student loans (the threshold is very low), but you won't make enough money as an investment banking associate (at least based upon your salary for the first year and a half until you finally get a bonus) to be living the high life while making student loan payments.
