Paying for college?

Good luck giftedgothic! My daughter also applied EA to the Honor College for Fall 2010. Had her interview last week.

Thanks! Good luck to your daughter, as well. Did she happen to get a confirmation email when they received her app? My friend got one, but I have not.

I believe that we sent an email to them asking for confirmation and they responded that they had received it.

Okay, thanks. I will call or email them tomorrow. I feel bad for the OP who we hijacked the thread from… sorry OP

I was looking into Kent State…Their tuition is pretty pricey. You think I’d get good finical aid?

^^^^^^^^
No.

emachine…

Since you’re a transfer student, how come you’re not considering your own state schools. They might be the most reasonably priced after subtracting your financial aid.

Nearly all state schools (including Kent State) can’t give financial aid that can even begin to cover the costs for Out of state students extra OOS fees nor their room and board…

You can, however, get a discount on the OOS surcharge.

^^^

While that’s a good thing, that’s a scholarship of about $3500 for a school with a COA of $30k.

How much would a low-income OOS student get in (non loan) FA from Kent State? $6k? More? Less? And how much could be borrowed each without a co-signer?

I believe that the OP is from PA and is seeking her BSN as a transfer? Right? Aren’t there any PA state schools that can provide a good BSN education at cost lower than a COA of $30k (even minus the $3500 scholarship)?
