Then you've got a problem. If you get admitted somewhere with financial aid, you may ask the college to cosign your loan, but that's the only option I see. I've been wondering about that too.

Me? Parents can pay 4000 bucks a year. Average cost is 40000 bucks for my schools. Only applying to schools with need-based for internationals. I know it's competitive...but what else do I have as a choice...

Ya............thats the reason y I startd this tread.......lol........n,will uni ''cosign'' my loan??????
This is weird....coz I havnt heard that thing before.......will they really sign??

Not many, but a few will do. And those will not cosign any loan but only a specific one. It's more like an agreement between a bank and the college. But you can borrow as much as you really need (up to a certain limit) and not as much as your financial aid packet tells/allows you to. I know that Lake Forest offer's such a credit program, and I have heard of a few other colleges that do. Most colleges will have you apply for a SSN but you need that anyway to work on-campus.

you can also check for student line of credits from your local banks... in canada (since i'm planning crosses fingers on studying in the States) most banks offer students a line of credit up to 8,000-10,000/year... unforunately though you need a co-signer which to me kind of sucks because my parents don't have such great credit...
