I wanted to Phase 1 PB116, but my Tele-bears isn't until Thursday. The class has only 4 seats open currently, and 50+ people on the waitlist. Does anyone know if the professor accepts a lot of people off the waitlist, since it is manual? Also, is the class lecture only? I read somewhere that there is a discussion, but it is not on schedule builder. Should I waitlist this class, or does anyone have other 2 unit breadth fulfilling classes that you would recommend (and is not super full)?

People will be dropping soon, especially it is a big class. There are weekly essays with around 700 words each. However if you attend section, you just need to write 500 words each. The section seats are very limited.

So, I’m number 72 on the waitlist… I checked earlier and there are 4 open spots? Can I drop off the waitlist and add the class to get in, or will that not work? Also, does anyone know if this professor will just accept everyone off the waitlist until the hall is filled?

All the wait list of this semester got in until the last few days (> 100). I got anxious as the deadline approached but the adviser assured me i will get in eventually.

I assume the open spots are reserved so you won’t be able to off the wait list

If there are students on the waitlist and open seats, don’t drop your place on the waitlist. Sometimes it’ll show open seats because someone dropped the class but the next people on the waitlist haven’t responded yet. I think priority goes to ppl on the waitlist.

You can also email the professor or department directly if you have questions. Sometimes classes are cross-listed in other departments and you can get it that way. Good luck!

I think when I took it I was 200 on the waitlist and still got in. This was Fall 2010 I believe (I’m old =[)
