DD rec'vd generous FA package from PC- about 39000.It includes some scholarship, grant, loans & work study. We live in NY so it is still less than a SUNY. BUT in 2 years, my son will be out of school so my aid will drop. Has anyone heard of pleading with FA so that she can somehow attend and get the same aid? SHe was just accepted at SUNY Binghamton so we are not sure what to do. SHe liked the small college feel of PC- we just need advice! Thanks

I know what you mean, PC vs state, My daughter loved Providence, but not her state school.
I would ask, usually they go by the EFC and to ask for the same aid, would be difficult. I am just talking about grants though, scholarships aren’t based on that.
I was going to to start a thread once, since most parents had children attending different years, how they managed the difference with 1 in vs 2, etc.
Also ask about tuition increases, something the aid doesn’t rise to meet. My daughters packet at all her colleges had an * with “this figure was based on having 2 in college”.

PC does not have a large endowment, so they can’t come close to meeting need.
D was offered a few thousand by PC last year, but three other schools offered her about 40K.

As an alum, it breaks my heart that PC is too expensive for my kids.
