I'm just curious if one of them have a specific advantage over the other. I currently have a Macbook Pro. Any suggestions/solid recommendations?

The dominant program in professional practice is Revit, and it only runs on Windows. However I have a Mac and so does my son in architecture school, we just use Bootcamp to run windows.

Aside from high cost and inability to upgrade/customize…Nope theres no specific advantage of a Mac over a PC.

You could debate the cost is worth it but this provided link should provide sufficient argument.

Also I just don’t like the fact that macs aren’t customizable. Sure you can choose between a mac and a Macbook Pro and decide how much RAM and and processing power you want. But that’s not truly customizing.

You can build a windows PC from scratch. You could build another PC from scratch and load it with Mac OS X…but it would still be a pc. Just saying.

And Macs are far less prone to viruses and built like workhorses.

i love my mac. and now i have rhino and autocad that works on macs, so i never have to use a PC if i dont want to ;)

Do you guys get glossy or anti-glare screen? Which offers color more like the color you’ll get on print? thanx

Our daughter is very pleased with her decision to go with a Mac pro. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/architecture-major/1096183-macbook-pro-question.html
