anyone else experiencing this?

I did 1 hour each time and it booted me out each time.

Yes!!! It was working and I was literally about to hit submit to make the payment but then I decided to change something on my app last minute and when I tried to submit again it wouldn’t load the pdf. I don’t know what to do at this point.

same…i’m so annoyed right now

Have you tried another browser.

I just got it to work randomly. Thanks anyways - I’ll try that if i encounter more problems!

just kidding it isn’t working anymore. tried on chrome, firefox, IE.

I’m having the same problem -_-

Wake up early tomorrow morning and try. I have found volume-based slowdowns and most HS Srs aren’t on CA at 6am. The print preview should generate after a few minutes. If it takes longer than that, X out & try again.

I know! And I keep looking on CommonApp support but there is nothing about this. I’m getting stressed because I just want to be done with submissions, especially because this is an Early Action deadline!
Does it say on the bottom (while the PDF is generating) “Adobe PDF viewer not available” for everyone else??

I got the "pdf viewer not available’ earlier today using IE. I tried a few tips I found
online, but nothing worked. I then switched to Chrome and the pdfs generated.
But for the past few hours, I have just gotten the spinning cicrle. I’ m assuming just
overloaded and will try again early tomorrow. Annoying because I am trying to get
the stupid paragrphs to work and each try requires you to preview. Still haven’t
had any luck.

My son had the same issue last Thurs night but had no trouble early Fri morning. I know it is almost impossible for HS Seniors to wake up any earlier than they already do, but it should be so much faster in the morning. When my son had trouble Thurs night, he tried Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera…I think he even rigged up an old Windows machine.

He did not see ‘Adobe PDF viewer not available’ but instead some message about ‘Please be patient’. He finally submitted using Safari.

We’re having the same issue tonight. I’ll try in the morning if it doesn’t go through soon. I’m getting the “Please be patient” message. I can’t imagine what this will be like on 10/31 and 11/1.

I’ve never had a problem and I’ve generated the pdf many times to check for formatting. It is taking longer each time I do it though. It used to take less than 5 seconds but now it takes like 15-20 seconds.

I have been trying for hours to generate the preview. Nothing but the ol’ spinning wheel…

Has the site been working better of late? I haven’t been on the site in a couple of weeks but got the impression things were better of late.

Is tonight especially bad? Twitter is a non-stop feed of people having problems tonight.

I’m in the same boat…spinning wheel for 2 hours now…

This has happened to me and there are two solutions (for me, anyway):

Change browsers.

Chrome didn’t work for me, but old-fashioned Internet Explorer did.

Use a different computer or device.

One of my teacher recommenders called me, informing me about the same problem, but it worked right away when he used his iPad.

no problem viewing and submitting over the past hour (approx 11 pm Pacific time). I used IE which was not working at all for me this afternoon.

This isn’t a solution, but I’d offer up that you should never let it spin for over 5 mins - in our experience nothing positive is going to happen after that long. Hit refresh and try again.

anyone figure out how to remove the spaces that automatically show up between paragraphs in the essay?

My D has a list of items in the additional information section and two are connected together while the others are separated. There is no difference in the spacing when she entered them. Why is this happening?

Thanks!!

To fix this, first copy the whole section to a word document. Then in Word, copy a paragraph break that in the common app preview looks correct (because it has the correct format/code to accomplish your goal). Paste this copied paragraph break into CA in each place where the paragraph break looks wrong.
