"PDF generation is in progress, please be patient" message when submitting

<p>This message was displayed when I hit the Submit button. It was sitting in this state forever, never finish and move onto next screen. I cancelled it and retried it, still no luck tonight. I was able to submit 4 colleges in CommonApp from Oct to a few days ago. Is this a common issue lately with the CommonApp? I understand that as more students are using the system as we approach the deadline, the performance issue of the CommonApp may surface often. This is very scary. Maybe I will wait until 2:00am PST when the system load is lighter to try again.</p>

<p>On our computer, we get this message, but if we go down lower on the page the complete PDF is there.</p>
