PE classes: so many options lol

which ones have you taken/ heard about that you might recommend… I was looking through the courses of study book and there is an endless list, things like Swedish Massage and Gunks Bouldering? lol
river canoeing sounds appealing and also ballroom dancing and fencing …. What are your suggestions? hahaha

snowboarding is where its goin down

bowling is definitely a must take class

Do they have bellydancing?

^^yes...they have belly dancing! isn't that cool? lol

Wave: snowboarding would be fun too, if I had at least some minimal experience so I wouldn’t freakishly suck lol in my mind… me + snowboarding= recipe for major embarrassment! The prospect of it doesn’t look too promising now, but one day perhaps, one day hahaha

good. u me and figs are going snowboarding

lol I'll be skiing to my heart's content first. Ahhh I can't wait!!! I love it!

Acerbic you should DEFINITELY give it a try. It is sooo much fun! (I'm assuming u don't ski either, so I meant either...cuz I don't snowboard lol)

Def really fun times skiing! Sometimes when I'm skiing I just love thinking about it. Ur just floating across the ground like ur flying and can just go as fast as you would like and it is such a great experience. Jumping is really fun too (altho I'm not very good at jumping lol). It's all so fun tho!

I think these classes are why I chose Cornell over other schools. haha, there a so many. I wanna take about 2 a semester, but that probably won't happen.

i'm thinking about equitation...and handgun shooting. anyone else?

I'll name my top 5.

Bowling

Equitation

Golf

Introduction to Massage (I want to take them all)

Intro to Meditation

oh cool Meditation sounds super nice! what about tree climbing? now that’s gotta be fantabulously exciting lol …I actually didn’t even know it existed hahaha

first 2 that jumped out at me:
rock climbing
tree climbing

I'm thinking skiing, kayaking (wanna make use of the AMAZING location!), and yoga to relax n meditate.

I heard that bowling was really fun, though--the girl I stayed with when I went up for the pre-frosh swe days said that the teacher was really chill. He's not like...an attendence-nazi or anything like that.

Bowling is a lot of fun. I took sailing and had a blast, but some of the other ones are misleading. Kayaking is a saturday class, which means you will have to give up one of your weekend days to do it. If you take it in the fall this means you won't be able to go to a couple of the football games. The massage class asks lets you sign up with a partner, but sometimes if you don't, you get a really creepy person as a partner. The meditation classes require a lot of stretching and make you stretch with awkward positions, so it's a lot more appropriate for girls, and a bit more embarrassing for guys. The dance ones have the same kind of partner problem as massage, so try and find a partner you like when you sing up for those.

Also, snowboarding is expensive. I think it's an extra 250 dollar fee. And I think Tree Climbing is on Saturdays too, but I'm not totally sure. Bowling is fun. Basketball is free and entertaining. Judo seems appealing, but it's a night course and it's nowhere near north campus, so you will have to walk really far from your dorm late at night if you want to do it.

nick: thanks for the great info and wonderful descriptions lol!
"sometimes if you don't, you get a really creepy person as a partner" hahaha I'll keep that in mind lol

so bowling seems very popular! I also like meditation …hmmm

Creepy Massage Partner Hahaha

I would suggest the wellness class. Not only is it FREE, you get a FREE gym pass. the class is pretty great, they see where you are (BMI, strength, etc) and then teaches you what machines/workout to use to maximize working out for you. and you get a free gym pass!!

i'd suggest sailing for those of you who've never tried it, or might never get a chance to try it again. it's slightly pricey, but well worth it. cayuga lake is beautiful.

I don't mind that price for skiing too much since I would probably end up spending that amount of money going from mountain to mountain every couple weeks during the winter in highschool.
(When I rented it was a lot more than that too)
The question I have is are you forced to take training classes instead of actually having fun skiing? I've been a skier since like 5th or 6th grade so I definitely don't need lessons (unless there is like an expert lesson or something...since I'm not quite an expert).

I was a hurdler so I used to do a ton of stretching and was very flexible. I've also done yoga once (its expensive so I just did it once for a friend who actually has a studio on her property). Is the stretching still awkward if I used to stretch a ton every day for hurdling? I'm not really sure what to picture here lol

Damn kayaking is on a Saturday? That's actually pretty damn sucky...

Thanks nick and others!
