What exercises/work-outs do you recommed doing before Indoctrination. I have never been much of an athlete so I am concerned. Also, how many push-ups/flutter kicks are a “set?”
Thanks!

Pages 18-20 provide a suggested workout program.

Push-ups (normal and some diamonds), flutter kicks, those are the most common. Also, run (really helps if you come from lower altitudes.)

numbers are hard to provide. it varies on cadre, and you never can really tell. just go for a while until you can't do any more, then keep going ;) just be sure to be improving from now til inproccessing and you'll be fine

I would say you should probably be able to do sets of around 20 pushups, without getting up in between them. Just practice by doing some pushups, then "rest" in the up position, and do more. Also work on diamonds

For flutter kicks, just do a lot of them and after you are tires, hold your legs straight out about 6 inches above the ground. Also work on bringing them from this position straight up to 45 and 90 degrees and holding them at each position.

Do these and you should be relatively well prepared for basic. Just remember one thing- no matter how much you prepare, there will most likely be sometime (and in most cases, many times) when you break during basic. Don't sweat it, everybody does.

Glad to see you've returned Pat.

Glad to be back! What squad are you going into, hornetguy?

I will be entering Tiger Ten, how about you?

Hornetguy, not sure you know Benjo6 (son) but I believe he's Tiger 10 as well.

Yup, I see him on the list coming in from 39. Small world eh. :)

I'm going into 13.

From squad 21 right?

Yep. The good old Blackjacks.
