What kinds of classes can you take to fulfill this credit?

If I remember correctly, there is a minor swimming requirement

Take something that you'd enjoy instead of viewing PE as if it's a chore.

O_o This is outrageous...we have to pay for the PE courses in the summer, so im guessing that isnt a part of the Cornell Summer Classes

oo..found the actual requirement thing:
PHYS ED REQUIREMENT
All Cornell undergraduates are normally required to take two credits (two courses) of Physical Education, one credit each semester of the first year on campus. Students may take more than one PE class per semester, but may only take one for credit. Registered participants in Cornell Athletics may receive PE credit (sign up during the registration). There are some exceptions for transfer students. For a complete description of the Physical Education Requirements and exceptions, please see Physical Education Requirements

SWIM TEST REQUIREMENT
All Cornell undergraduates are normally required to pass a swim test. There are some exceptions for transfer students. Students should bring a bathing suit and their student I.D. card. Men's tests will be given in Teagle Hall and Women's tests will be given in Helen Newman Hall. Make up Swim Tests will be offered on the following days and times: Fridays, 4/4, 4/11, 4/18 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Teagle pool. There will be a $30.00 charge for tests administered on these dates. If you need more information please contact Fred DeBruyn at 255-2629.

Spinning?

I guess I'll try for archery or riflery if I get into Cornell.. (I always wanted to learn archery)

spinning is biking.. in place

Bowling is really easy and convenient for freshmen as it's right on north campus. There are a lot of meditation classes that basically require no actual activity, but as others said, take the ones that sound interesting! My advisor last semester told us to choose something we could do all our lives, and I think he's pretty right -- it's nice to learn something like Tennis or Scuba Diving that you can make a hobby out of forever.

there's sooo many classes I'd like to try. Ball room dance, skiing are at the top of my list!

but archery, fencing, handgun, riflery, scuba, snowboarding all sound SOOOO fun. mann. this is probably gonna be my hardest decisions when it comes to choosing classes. -__-

can anyone comment on the difficulties of the classes? what if I turn out to suck really bad? hahah. THANKS =]

woahh! Fencing! I didn't see that before. I'm def. gonna do that one

..omg..triathalon is one of them. Probably hella intense people in that class

Belly dancing! <3

Yea I think it's pass/fail so hopefully they grade on effort hahaha

lol Whats 'Fly Tying'?

You guys should definitely take bowling for one of your PE's.

fly tying is learning how to make flys (or baits) for fly fishing

My daughter took bowling both semesters. She is actually getting good at it, it's conveniently located on North Campus, and you don't have to change your clothes, which is a good timesaver. There's an extra fee, though.

The S/U grading is based on showing up for a sufficient number of classes. I think you only get two absences per semester.

A lot of the PE courses sound cool, but you register for PE after you register for everything else. This means that you will find that a lot of the courses you would have liked to take conflict with the academic courses you already registered for.

Wow there are a lot of cool choices...I think massage sounds interesting, does anyone know about the class? I also like skiing, fencing, bowling, but I have to take a swim class since I'm not a good swimmer. So If I can't really swim, do I still have to take the test, or can I take a class and then take the test? Actually I don't know why I'm wondering this b/c chances are I'm not going to get accepted...with my mediocre gpa haha.
