Anybody for peabody conservatory? I was admitted and am super excited to hear from others!
please post!

Hey, Llamas–how did you hear? What’s your instrument?

Yeah, I didn’t think official results were going out until April 1 via e-mail…

I see that llamas got into the JHU/Peabody dual degree program, so perhaps that is how he or she heard earlier than those who only applied to Peabody. I have added this info to the list of music school acceptances, but it would still be nice to know if there is a particular instrument or voice involved, and the specifics of the JHU major. Biology was mentioned in another thread, but Hopkins has a couple of degree options in that field - BA and BS.

Hopkins’ double-degree program is very, very hard to be accepted into. So double-kudos are called for!

Definitely! Double congrats!!!

Congratulations, llamas!

We know of two cellists who have been accepted at Peabody. One of them is a brilliant composer, theoretician, at Juilliard precollege, who got into JHU and Peabody, but not the double degree program (to my surprise!) So, well done, llamas! Not easy to pull off!

My D was admitted to Peabody for vocal performance, also admitted to Hopkins but not to DD program. She’s very strong academically but I understand very few are admitted to DD even when admitted to both schools. We’re not sure of the reason, but they did ask her at her audition if she planned on continuing her violin playing as well. They didn’t seem too happy with her answer, so I suspect they want people who are VERY focused. The program seems ridiculously difficult(the schools even have different calendars). Fortunately, my D felt the same way, and it’s isn’t her top choice

For those who have been admitted, how did you hear and when? They made it VERY clear official results would be sent out on April 1, so I’m a little confused. ???

My daughter auditioned for BM Vocal Performance. Should we have heard by now…?

soccerstarmom23, just conjecture, but some institutions release by instrument or area. That is one potential possibility.

It’s looking like only people who applied for the dual degree program have heard…because Hopkins just sent out acceptances.

So people only applying to Peabody, you can relax! :)

It really sounded at auditions that they would send all decisions out ON April 1 by email. I think the double-degree applicants heard when Hopkins released its decisions. So hopefully April 1 everyone will get (good) news.

It was weird.D received an E=mail welcoming her to the class of 2013 at JHU. It was only in the E-mail from the DD program she was made aware of her acceptance to Peabody. Hope this helps(likely Peabody notice with arrive 4/1

obsessivecollege, did I get that right in that you are saying that your daughter has also been accepted to JHU/Peabody this year? If so, hearty congratulations to you both and please let us know what programs she will pursue at each so that we can include it in this year’s acceptances list.

Oh, nevermind I just saw the post above saying not the dual degree program.

Great to hear from you guys.
People are correct in that I applied to the DD program with Hopkins as premed bio/ jazz studies on double bass. I didn’t actually hear from peabody, just from the dd program. I wish you all the best of luck with peabody!

I have also been accepted to the DD program with Hopkins majoring in Bassoon performance and Civil or Chemical Engineering. I’m so excited! I think it may be my top choice (though I’m still waiting for finaid information).
Good luck with Peabody everyone!

omg me too! I’m so glad to see others! Premed or molecular bio/Vocal Performance d

Congratulations you two–those double degree programs are competitive, so you have obviously worked very hard and are going to set either the Baltimore or Evanston world on fire!!!

Boy our CC’ers are really cleaning up this year! Congratulations to all!!!

sounds like premed is a popular other major.
just a quick question, do you guys think it is do-able (conservatory music AND premed at one of the best universities?)
