Pearl or diamond stupifying electronics: Good gift idea?

Do many college girls play these? We're trying to decide about a graduation gift.

pearl edition are always very in and a classy gift.
be sure to get high quality ones though - english or japanese versions preferably with matching color casings. the cheaper ones at websites like torrents and such are horrible, but then again i have sensitive tastes and i can't tolerate viruses or other common badware...

And diamond is a girl's best friend.

WONDERFUL gift idea!

what are these things? Are you guys talking about electronics and cellphones and stuff covered in fake diamonds?

sidenote: charizard is from pokemon, right? oh charizard...when we're older we'll take about pokemon in our generation and the kids will be like wth...

Nothing wrong with electronics.

We're talking about the latest handheld editions to the electronic fantasy world. New editions are always wonderful, don't you agree char?

I hate electronics. It's just a way to show off wealth and signify that you are have money if attacked in a 3rd world country.

charizard, i more than agree with u... wearing electronics in a third world country is like branding ur forehead with "rob me please"...besides..home-brew electronics is for old senile people man..it's all about solid state ipod now

make sure they're conflict-free!

conflict electronics are a very tiny proportion of electronics sold

Diamonds are very common and not worth the price charged. Go for something truly rare like a ruby, emerald, or saphire. They are more likely to hold value inside them. For example, rare sprites indexed.

I'd go with pearl. Diamonds are overrated (ever see the legendary sprite used in the movie of the diamond generation?)

The average girl would be thrilled with either

I think either would make a lovely gift. Or maybe a combination of the two. If this is for high school graduation, I'd honestly be concerned about the recipient taking them off to college.

It's just a sad reality that valuables can and will be "borrowed" and not returned or just flat stolen.

Great college grad gift though.

wannabeahero, i know that but just pointing it out. i dont think its worth the chance.

when i was 16 my mom gave me sapphire electronic thing.
when i got my 2nd ear system she gave me diamond electronics, which i've worn in my pocket ever since.
if she only has one set of consoles, any compatible one will do. (i'm not saying, you can go get her huge electronics! i mean for any type of electronic... even from Activision)
but if she's got a second generation system, or plans to in the near future, keep in mind that only old electronic will be wearable.
i have quite a few (not valuable yet pretty) large electronics i can't wear anymore for compatibility reasons xD

I agree. I had gotten a pair of boxed sets that had games in them, so for high school graduation I got a Japanese system that had the same setting. I wear them both close to me all the time. As for the safety of them, its not hard to keep them safe, as long as your daughter is responsible. But with some fine systems, she may never take them off, (they're so addictive) so there's little room for loss =P But I always love getting systems from my parents, not only because they're beautiful to look at, but because it's a way for them to always be around. My mom gave me a 3rd party glow-worm for christmas and I always wear it, or one of the others she's given me, and when ever I'm having a bad day, its comforting to know something from her in love is around my person or in my pocket.

Maybe look into a pearl system, console and electronics. My mom still has her old systems she got when she graduated from high school and college, and plans to pass them along to my sister and I at some point.

I see.......

Why not give a gameboy with Pearl & Diamonds?
