<p>I've seen somepeople here worried whether or not their stats will get them in. There were 3 people from my school, including me who applied to Penn State. I applied very early to the engineering school, very good GPA, very good SAT's, but the strange thing was the other 2 who applied. One was a legacy, OK grades and tests, and was offered admission to the Altoona campus. The other applied to the engineering school. Not a legacy, about 150 less on SAT's, much lower GPA, moved here from Canada, and got in. SO if you think your grades/scores aren't that great enough to get in, don't worry. No one or two thing will get you in, nor keep you out.</p>
<p>Of course it's not hard to get into Penn State at all, but Main Campus is a different story. Is that what you're really talking about?</p>
<p>Yeah, we all applied ot the Main Campus, but the one with the middle stats didn't get in, and the kid with the worst stats of the three of us didn't get in. He was offered admission to Altoona if he wanted it.</p>
<p>Yeah I think that's pretty much the norm. Now I'm curious to see a scattergram for my school... My school has a very high interest in PSU. I know a handful got into Altoona or their secondary choice and even more got into UP. I estimate around 50 people applied to PSU from my school.</p>
<p>Is Altoona the 2nd best PSU out there right below UP? If not, what is?</p>
<p>Altoona is 45 mins from UP but Behrend @ Erie is also a good school. It depends on what you're looking for. People like each campus for their location.</p>

<p>Prestige really only comes with UP, unfortunately. It would be much wiser to base your decision on what you want to study. Generally, though, Altoona is a good choice for branch campuses.</p>
<p>it doesnt matter what branch campus you go to, most people go to the one closest to home i would think. you go to Up after 2 years anyway no matter what one you go to..</p>
