Hey I'm attending Peddie this fall.
Could anyone give me some information about Peddie's reputation?
For example, academically? or consider its matriculation?
Top 10? Top 20?

Peddie has a great reputation, at least here in the Philadelphia area. They list their matriculation information on their website: Peddie School ~ Matriculaton Information

I wonder - you got in, you are going to attend - are you worried about something?

I'm attending Peddie, too, and I don't know why so many people downgrade it. They say, "It's no where near the first tier" and stuff like that, but I disagree. The matriculation information begs to differ, in addition with the SAT scores and admission information. Peddie seems like a great school and I can't wait to attend!

Don't second guess your choice on an excellent school. I think following comments and opinions of others on CC can sometimes have this effect. (My S doesn't go on CC at all, and I'm grateful for that, as he's very happy with his decision, and I would hate for anyone here to burst his bubble). Feel good about your choice and the reasons you applied there to begin with -- you're embarking on an exciting new life. Congratulations and all the best!

If you are talking about the Peddie in N.J then you are extremely lucky to be going there. Because I only know of one Peddie and it's amazing. I visited it once and the enviorment and people were so breathtaking. That school gets my vote for the friendliest school that I personally know.
Be proud of going to Peddie! You do not know how many thousands of kids would kill to be in your position. Good Luck!

actually, the matriculation info is not very impressive for a prep school. i wouldn't be surprised if princeton high school had equal or better numbers.

peddie suffers from being overshadowed by lawrenceville in nj, but it is a good school seemingly on the move up.

Ok, now that was totally biased.

is it really? your post indicates you have little more than a passing familiarity with the school, so your ability to judge such a thing is questionable. he asked about reputation and matriculation and i gave an honest response.

You need to be nicer dude.
Obviously you are going to be biased, no matter what, because you used to attend Lawrenceville.

you have nothing to say with regards to the content of my post, but focus instead on my background.

if anything, you're the one who's shown bias by disregarding the validity of anything i would say on the matter.

Ok. W/e
Your little asssumption is completely off and you have no grounds to back it up.
Why would I be biased, what would I gain from being so?
Im just saying you shouldn't be so harsh.
Thats all Im saying and even though what you say may be true (Im not saying it is or it isn't), you don't say that to ANY incoming freshman.
Its just not nice and downright rotten.

wow guys calm down. Aussie13 doesnt even go to peddie so he can't be bias.....
I agree wit him but plz dont start a cc war

peace

hey! at least he/she compared it to phs, which is a great high school and probably has good matriculations rather than some boogus public high school. but the truth is the matriculations show one thing, that you CAN be very successful at peddie, that it's a great school to learn at if you take advantage of it, but the list might not be considered "as great" as lawrencevilles list because maybe there are a couple of slackers, oh gosh now everyone who attends peddie will fail. most schools (basically all elite private schools which there are like a tirllion of in the nj/princeton/lawrenceville area) give you the ability to be a great student, so just work your booty off at peddie and you've got just as great of a chance as getting into a great school as a person with equal grades, sats, ecs, essays as someone from lawrenceville or someone from phs. so seriously, matriculation lists prove absolutely nothing.

Wow lvilleslacker is unnecessarily rude and biased. He is also not setting a good example for Lawrenceville if that is how people from there behave, would we want to go there? I'd rather go to a "terrible" school with nice people than a "great" school with rude people. Face the facts.

Relax, maybe they're not even discussing the Peddie School in NJ, but rather the Peddie School in Oregon.

No, we def. were discussing the Peddie in N.J.

=)

Are you sure? Maybe its the one in Ohio.

the kid asked for information on Peddie..it doesn't have to be all positive. I mean it would be nice to be decent and say it's a good school but people have differnt opinions.. So just lay off, how you're fighting over your computers is NOT going to solve anything..

I think we shouldn't fight here for a post. Everyone has his/her own point and lvilleslacker only gave his own opinion. There's nothing offence here. If arthas1208 only need to hear good info, he doesn't have to make this thread. Obviously, good info will give him more confidence but different opinion is also beneficial and helps us understand the school from another viewpoint.

Personally ,I think Peddie is a very good school. Its matriculation list might not be as fantastic as Andover/ Exeter but it's good and it doesn't matter if you are a good student. In fact, it can be somehow an advantage since standing out at a good school can give you better chance than being normal at a great school.

So..
I gave up NMH and chose Peddie. If you were me, would you regret the decision?

I'm intl, not knowing much about the advantages and disadvantages of those two schools.
