I am an avid lurker on the boards. Congratulations to all students and parents who have been on this journey. Regardless of what decisons are made it is only a beginning. I have always agreed with the parent that said" want the school that wants you." My child will definitley attend the Peddie School this fall. I would appreciate any feedback from any students or parents on even if you are thinking of Peddie. Why Peddie? Thanks again and good luck to all!!

Peddie has an excellent girls golf program and the course is right next door.

Peddie’s acceptance rate is lower than Choate’s.

Peddie’s endowment is large

I am a current student at Peddie. Ask away!

The number one thing we like at Peddie is its sense of community. Just a few silly questions that I am inpatient to find out.

Can’s wait for revist day?

Why did you choose Peddie?

As for the dorms:

How did you adjust to rooming with someone?
Do the boys dorm use twin or XL twin?
Can each student have a refrigerator in the room?
If you know how much did you spend in books for freshman year, does the library have books available for the classes (texts)?

Okay, so one: I’m a day student. I’ll answer your boarding questions as well as I can.

What do you mean by “Can’s wait for revisit day”?

I chose Peddie because of the community and the academics. The warmth I get from random seniors saying hi to me is welcomed. The academics are great…I don’t have any “bad” teachers and I would be surprised if they really exist. Of course people don’t always mesh with their teachers, but I would be happy to have any of the teachers.

Boy dorms use a twin, I think.

Each student can have a fridge.

The library does have books for all classes, but you can only keep them in the library. You can’t check them out. I don’t know how much you spend on books, but you can buy most of them from Ebay for a small sum.

Sorry. I Meant “Can’t wait for revisit day”

Thanks for your feedback.

Also when do you find out about book requirements, just cause I know it can be quite costly. I guess late summer, most likely.

Did you take part in POCO? Did you find it helpful?

How are the freshman teams or can you play on jv/varsity teams if you are a freshman?

Late summer you find out!

Everyone has to do POCO. It was fun…I got to know a lot of people in a short amount of time.

You can play on JV/Varsity teams if you’re good! Some sports only have JV and Varsity teams, like field hockey.

No problem!
