I grew up in that area (a long time ago though). My best guess is that your daughter will probably have a clear preference after her revisits since the two have different cultures. George School is still influenced by its ties to the Society of Friends while Peddie is more of a classic boarding school. Both are excellent schools, simply different.

Interestingly, both are the beneficiary of extremely large donations by a single benefactor who attended each school. Walter Annenberg (founder of TV Guide) gave over $100 million to Peddie. Barbara Dodd Anderson (whose father was a business school professor of Warren Buffett and an early investor with him) gave over $100 million to George School.

Thanks Lvillegrad for input

Anyone else has any thoughts on it…

My daughter loves George School. She only applied to George and Westtown so I can’t comment on Peddie. She loves the Quaker values of community and respect, and she loves the international feel (over 40 countries represented). George has a phenomenal photography program (her passion) and also great theater arts and fine arts. Her teachers have all been supportive yet challenging and her experience has only been positive.

It’s going to be such an obvious choice when you revisit - which way depends on what kind of kid your child is.

Son interviewed at both last cycle, and I have some personal history with one. I agree, think you will see some marked differences at revisit. It’s fair to argue that the comments you get here simply should be deferred until after you have had that time to make your own observations. (by way of not “leading” too much; I’ll check back here, though)
