peer eval on drinking (lol !)

my friend wrote a peer eval for me that included stories of us drinking, smoking, etc... do u think this will hurt my chances ? lol

lol i dunno, i hear dartmouth admissions is pretty chill but i dont think letting them know those things would help ur chances buddy :P

Your friend is an idiot. This’ll definitely hurt your chances.

Generally, that isn’t a good thing to have on a peer recommendation. A passing reference to alcohol wouldn’t be catastrophic but a peer evaluation that details drinking and the use of illegal drugs really doesn’t send the right message.

Was your friend being serious or was he writing about those things in a humorous way?

Well, one less person I have to beat. :stuck_out_tongue:

Best of Luck!

Mine is doing the same thing.
I’m not worried to be honest.
When he finishes the rec, I’ll show it to people who want to see it.

If it details your achievement in overcoming your “ways” and transforming into the good student you are today through hard work and dedication, it would be a fabulous peer rec. BUT if not, yeah… why on earth would you let him/her write that?!

I think the teacher rec should talk about you inside the classroom and the peer evaluation should talk about you outside the classroom. If you drink, you drink.

Yeah outside the classroom… when I drink, I drink

but I don’t understand what good mentioning that would be in a peer recommendation?

“Here’s my good friend elaslawek, he gets hammered every now and then. It’s pretty sweet brah”

I would love to see this recommendation if you want to send it my way xD

(on a side note, kudos for being ballsy)

Is it just me or do I smell a ■■■■■…

touche =]]]]

My friend is sending it out tomorrow. I’ll send you a copy if you wanna see what it says.
And we’ll see what Dartmouth thinks hah/

"a peer evaluation that details drinking and the use of illegal drugs really doesn’t send the right message. "

tell them to look outside their office window ;)

Jokes aside, I really can not see what good can come from even making a passing reference of alcohol in the peer rec. letter. I certainly think that it will do more harm than good.

However, if your friend thinks that the alcohol reference can demonstrate a positive aspect of yours then he should certainly mention it. Basically, you and your friend are the best judge of that and none of us can really tell if it will truly hurt your chances.
Good Luck :)

Hmm, my friend did something similar. Except he talked about how I accompanied a friend of mine to the hospital when she got alcohol poisoning at a party.

Trolllllllll

My friend finished the one he wrote for me and I really like it.
If anyone wants to read it, let me know. Its pretty crazy stuff.

sure, i would love to read it. PM it to me.

Anyone want to read mine, im intl so have no idea if my friend did a good job
