Peer Evaluation Decision

Hey mates!

I have narrowed my peer recommendations down to two options:

-A peer rec from my best friend and roommate, who I have known for 4 years and do nearly everything with.

-A rec from a neurosurgeon with whom I have had an internship for the last two years, and who knows me very well on a professional level.

Who do you think I should go with? My roommate knows me incredibly well. My surgical mentor knows my career-oriented skills. I'm torn.

The neurosurgeon doesn’t fit the definition of the peer review that D is asking for (“a peer (i.e. friend) who knows you well”), but rather that of a regular LOR (“who knows me very well on a professional level”).

I would go with the roommate…just because, to me, a ‘peer-evaluation’ should have a more emotional and personal ring to it.

The neurosurgeon is not a peer, but you can send an extra rec from him.

I agree with ^. You can definitely send a rec from the neurosurgeon in addition to everything else, but the roommate should definitely write your peer rec.
