Seems like one thing I overlooked, which schools require this and is this really important? I don't know if I want my peers writing evaluations...

I know that Williams and Dartmouth both request peer evaluations.

and Davidson too if I'm not mistaken.

wait, what are peer evaluations? are they like recs from people your age? If it is, I'd just ask a good friend to write it.

Oooh, this was my favorite story in A Is for Admissions--the peer recommendation where the peer said, "We all hate this kid, he's a big liar, and he even got himself onto the honor board of the school so he could pardon his friends for their honor-code violations."

Dartmouth was all set to admit the kid, but they called the GC and she said it was all true (the kid's parents were threatening to sue the school if word got out). So they rejected the kid.

I wouldn't think they would take these too seriously unless it said something horrible like that.... and same goes for teacher recs... i mean we all ask these people for recs for a reason because they liked us lol.

Yes, that's what the author said--that this was the ONE case in her years at Dartmouth where the peer eval had an impact on admission. Thousands and thousands of other apps and the peer eval didn't matter one way or the other.
