Peer Rec Question

I was planning on having my twin brother write my peer rec as he is both a classmate and very close friend of mine (as the prompt for the form requests on the Davidson website). However, I'm not sure if the bolding of the words "classmate or close friend" forbids having a family member write the rec, and my parents say that he should not write it for fear of breaking the rules. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

To be safe, I’d say that your brother would be the best to use for your peer rec. I believe I recall someone at an admissions session saying that siblings are typically discouraged. Good luck with your applications.

No, definitely do not have your brother write your recommendation. If I were in the admissions office, I would discount a recommendation like that as inherently biased.

Sorry, totally meant to say that it would not be the best…
