Alma Mater: COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY

Slightly Superior:
Harvard
Princeton
Yale

Peer Institutions:
Stanford (the most similar to Columbia in terms of academics/prestige)
MIT
Caltech
Chicago

Respect:
Duke
Dartmouth
WUSTL

UMMMM…still good but…HELL NO:
Brown
Cornell
Northwestern
PENN (seriously…penn is overrated)

Middlebury

Peer Schools I respect (even though it often pains me to admit it): Williams, Amherst, Dartmouth, Bowdoin, Pomona, Brown.

NO; NOT A CHANCE.

Stanford is superior to Columbia. Stanford’s peer schools are: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT and Caltech.

Columbia clearly belongs to the lower group of great schools.

Columbia is heavily overrated as is the school I’m attending UPenn. Brown/Dartmouth are very underrated for undergrad.

For best undergraduate education the truth is:

HYP>Dartmouth>Brown>UPenn=Columbia>Cornell

Prestige wise I would say:

Harvard=Stanford>Yale>Princeton>Columbia=UPenn=Dartmouth=Brown>Cornell

^ NAH

In terms of international prestige (at least for Hong Kong):

Harvard >> Yale > Princeton = Wharton >> Columbia > Cornell > Penn > Brown >>> Dartmouth.

Anyway…
School: Cornell
Love: Stanford
Respect: JHU, Princeton, Rice
Disrespect: Penn CAS, Dartmouth

RoarLionsRoar03 is probably a ■■■■■. Putting Penn and Cornell under ‘UMMMM…still good but…HELL NO’ - probably trying to incite others.

@waitatshu: No one gives a crap about what hong kong thinks, all the jobs are here in the US. Besides China, everywhere else it’s:

HYP>Columbia=UPenn=Brown=Dartmouth>Cornell

^ except, you know, all the jobs that we ship to China. :p

^ lol and it annoys me that the mods/admin are too lazy to do their jobs and lock stupid threads like these.

LOCK STUPID AND CONTROVERSIAL THREADS LIKE THESE

“No one gives a crap about what hong kong thinks” - LOL, narrow minded much? Besides, I’m not just talking about HK, upenn lacks international recognition in general (with the exception of Wharton, of course)

Attend: UChicago
Respect: JHU, MIT, Cornell, Princeton, Edit: Berkeley needs more respect

Brown, and never more so than now that Ruth Simmons, one of the best New England college presidents in recent years, is stepping down. :D
