I applied for financial aid in June 2013. Originally I applied to start in the fall 2013 semester. Instead I decided to start in the spring 2014 semester. My college account has over 2600 listed on my financial aid left which was not used since I didn't go to classes or use it for any thing else. Will my refund include this or not?

I'm a little confused because of how it is worded on my account and it shows the totally untouched aid.

Pell Grant is disbursed over 2 semesters. You can not receive a whole year’s Pell in one semester. So if the $2600 was for the first semester and you did not attend, you can not receive it this semester. (It would probably be available to you in the summer if you attend in the summer.)

A year’s worth of loans can be disbursed in one semester if a student only attends the one semester, but Pell can not.

Is your bill paid for the Spring semester and this amount is leftover?

I have 1200 left after paying all spring semester costs. The 2600 says it is for the fall 2013 semester which I wasn’t there for. I put on my FAFSA form to start in fall 2013 but then decided to take a break. Is there anyone I should call to make sure it is all straight? I am thinking I should call my financial advisor at my school.

You will not receive the 2600 for the fall because you were not in school. Any monies that you are eligible for enrolling and attending classes in the spring term will be paid out to you.
