Pell Grant Question

If I don't use up the entire amount does it still count as an entire year?

Like say I take half credits and only get 2500 or whatever...would the other half of the full grant essentially go to waste and count toward the 6 year limit?

reason I ask is because I've been having to work long hours so full time school isn't much of a possibility anymore.

and is it time based? If I took a semester off would I still be eligible for the same amount of years?

Thanks for answering

Are you talking about a Pell Grant? If so, if you go part time, the Pell is prorated based on your part time status.

If you are talking about university grants…you need to check YOUR university. Some ONLY award grants to full time students.

Pell grants usage is based only on the percentage used (not the amount awarded). You can go to www.nslds.ed.gov to see how much you have used to date.
