Ive been accepted and signed my pell grand papers and received almost 2x what its gonna cost for my education. Ive purchased my “books” from the bookstore…etc Can I just ask them for the remaining balance to be refunded to me, or is there a certain amount of time or anything I have to wait before asking?? I have some test prep books I wanna purchase from Amazon to study at home, as the “books” they sell there are keycards that only work at the workstation at school, its for Computer IT. Thanks in advance guys
Yes you can get a refund with whatever is left but you have to look up the procedure and dates for your school yourself try the Bursar’s office.
If you have an excess of payments on your account over direct billed costs, the school will give you a refund at some point. Often though, it’s several weeks or more into the semester. It may not be until the add/drop deadline for the school. The school should communicate with you as to payment options for the refund, direct deposit, check, prepaid card etc. You could check the finaid pages of the school’s website to see if their policy is posted or email the finaid office. Since Pell grant is covering your expenses I presume you’re at a CC?
Yea im at a CC, classes begin End of Aug and im fully registered…etc Just wondering when it will show on my account so I could get it
Why do you need test prep books?
Why not? Im trying to get the most out of it. The “books” are only a key card which works at your workstation at school, so you literally have no books to study with at home or anything… No different than studying for any other exam or certification.
Is any of that money from loans? If so, then you might want to decline the unsub loans.
No loans at all, just pell grant
