pell grant question

<p>can anyone tell me the criteria/breakdown as to how these work? I know they are for the neediest students, but i can find nothing online that explains how need for this type of grant is determined... do you need an efc of zero? Or, is it based upon your Efc vs actual cost of attendence.. or?? Does being separated from spouse if you are an independent student help? </p>

<p>there is a grid that shows how much you get based on your family income. It is for low income people. I do not ahve a copy or link to the grid, but try googling. The more you make, the lower the grant and it changes each year with your income!</p>
