Pell Grant Question

So when I log in to my secure app it informs me that I have been awarded $2,675 for the summer term. I was really happy because I figured I would be able to pay for everything w/o loans and have money left over. Unfortunately I was reading the Award Amounts info tab and saw that it said "Federal Pell Grant may be pro-rated for less than 12 credit enrollment."

Does this mean that my pell grant will be cut in half since I am only doing 6 hours? I know that 6 hours is full time for summer school so I was pretty confused. This is my first time in college if that info is of any use. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks!

You won’t get 100% if you are below 12 credits, yes.

Have they already cut it in half or will it only be cut after disbursement?

They pro rate it.

Again, have they already cut it in half or will it only be cut after disbursement?

My friend gets $2,675 for a regular semester so Id imagine yours will be halved. Call you school’s fin aid office to make sure.

I dont know when the exact “cut off” is for getting 100% or pro rated, but if you were to add a couple classes to bump it up to 12, you should get 100%.
