I'm being sarcastic. LOL. If you were admitted and then your admission was withdrawn cuz an "I" you got from the stomach flu, I think you would also be very upset. If the "I" was a "D", or if they never admitted me, this would be a different story.

Would you consider staying a 3rd year, so you can apply with a B in Calc II?

Kevin, there is no rule about 80 units. It's just that when you read the UC literature they always tell you that they won't allow you to use more than 70-80 units of credit towards completion of work at UCLA or UC-wherever... or meaning, if you do have more than 70-80 units at a CCC they won't credit you past that amount. I believe the cap is 80. So if you have say, 87 units of coursework finished, they'll only use 80 and cap your credit at that. they use no more than 70 units for your lower division ge and and major prereqs and then the allow for 10 more units for misc elective credit.

I know it's really confusing and I'm not sure I have my head wrapped around all of these conditions set by the admissions requirments but I'm not worrying about it. If you do have more than 80 units, it DOES NOT count against you.

Hell no. If tomorrow proves to be another unsuccessful day, I am going to submit my SIR for UCI. Then, I am going to appeal in the summer (I have until June 16th) with transcripts showing my final grade in Calc., w/letter proving my illness from school nurse. If they still stick to there decision (which I am sure they will considering the success rate of appeals), then I am unevitably going to have a bias against UCLA admission policies.

Your appeal this summer seems like a strong one. I wish you the best.

Veralyn, so I transfer 80 units but for the remaining 20 units: I know I will not get unit credit, but I should be able to get subject credit, right? It just woudlnt' make sense otherwise.

I don't see y u got so offended, kevin. LOL. If what you said in post #189 is true and you stick w/your plan and apply next year, then you have nothing to worry about. If you don't want a time period where your admission is pending, make sure there is no changes to your coursework (wear dust mask and wash your hands! j/k). LOL.

veralyn, thats not true for ucla, they do not give u unit credit past 70 units. You get 70 units toward graduation, anything over that is subject crdit.

right... something along those lines! Thanks.

wow, good thing gabe didn't get to u before malishka did. Gabe would have verbally assaulted you like a national socialist. LOL. I am waiting for Inks to call me back this afternoon. I REALLY hope this works out. I will keep you guys posted on the final decision (even if it is a unfavorable one). Sigh. I thought i would know for sure by now, but looks like i have to wait to see. What school am I going to?!?!?!

I got a message back from the unlisted voicemail they have for withdrawn admittees. I spoke w/a student who gave me much more info than my counselor. Speaking w/him has made my situation crystal clear. The Bizecon program requires all transfer students to have at least a 3.0 major gpa. Apparently, the pre-req courses have changed last year to exclude accounting courses. I was calculating my 2 A's in accounting into my major gpa which was incorrect. My counselor meant my major gpa when she said UCLA gpa. My major gpa is a 3.0 rite now, but because of the "I" i have in calc2, my admission was withdrawn. They count "I" as C's until a grade is given. So that is how she got the 2.85. If any of you have had your applications withdrawn and are unsure why, PM me, so i can give you this unlisted phone #. To no surprise, a UCLA student was much more helpful and informative than the UCLA SAO counselor/evaluator. Ironically, the UCLA student does this stuff for free, while the SAO is getting paid. LMAO.

I am still going to appeal if I get the "B" in Calc2, which i most likely will. But in the meantime, UCI HERE I COME!

chowder: do you know what is the required ucla gpa for chemistry? i'm getting really worried now...

Go to there website, where it should list criteria for TRANSFERS.
Go to assist.org and calculate your gpa for your major courses. If you have above a 3.0 from your calculations, i think you are prefectly safe. I don't think chem would require a higher gpa than bizecon. To give you a better understanding, bizecon site says they require a 3.0 gpa EXCLUDING the english comp course. That means calc1, calc2, econ1, econ2 gpa.

lilaznswtgal: couldn't help but see you're asking about chemistry at ucla. fyi, I got in last year with a 3.5-3.6 gpa from a cc in san fran. =) good luck

ahhh i have like 4 c's out of all the classes for my major courses (the rest are b's) yet i was still admitted with one of c's (reported 3c's for last quarter recently). i don't have a good feeling about this... =(

chowder: how do i view the criteria for transfers??

my admissions STANDS THE SAMEE!!!!!!!! omg i feel so lucky! thank god!

I'm only helping u cuz I almost died last weekend from the stress of this whole thing and feel sorry for you. I did some research, and am sure you don't have to worry about your major gpa making you inelgible for admission. Bizecon is a highly impacted major, and so they made specific criteria for it's candidates; hence, the 3.0 minimum. What I would worry about is the part in your provisional contract that states "maintain the gpa.......you reported in your application and in any subsequent course updates". What gpa did you apply with? What is your gpa that you will have after this semester?

Did u talk to your counselor?

okay i have two questiosn that i was hoping you guys could help with... say i applied with a certain gpa but after this quarter..it will drop like by 0.5...will tehy revoke the admissions? also, if i had a w that i never reported becuase i didnt even know about from like jr high school will they revoke my admission for that?
