Pending after notifying UCLA of a dropped class.

That sucks, I was hoping to finish lower division during the first quarter at UCLA. I will have to take EE 2 and M16A then. And hopefully the EE10 or 100 Circuit Analysis class? I'm planning on taking just 3 classes but all major. And save the GE crap for summer, lol.

o im thinkin of takin 2 EE and one GE...but lets see....

the guy who is teaching EE 10 in fall, Daneshard, has pretty bad reviews on www.uclaprofessors.com. Although the reviews are for EE115C I think it still applies...I don't want to start off UCLA with Cs lol

I am still a bruin... Got an email, but website not updated

I'm officially finished with CC! Now comes the waiting period...

I want to update saying i am not taking any summer classes b /c i need to work, did anyone have a similar update?

Kinda. The class that i said i would take was full when i went to enroll in the summer.

I'm so worry about my admission , cuz I'm 99% sure that I'll get a C :(

My genetic course teacher is a SOB. I lost nearly 30% of points because of him. I turned in my lab report late since I couldn't get in the software (It's a virtual lab) to do work, and I've told him about that for a few times. At last he gave me 3/20. :( Also, he gave me 8/20 for another reports. At first, he highlighted the line that "Don't worry about genetic disease", but I didn't labelled any. Therefore, I asked him, he said he was wrong at first and suddenly caught another mistake, which I didn't name people in my pedigree. I told him I really didn't know my relatives' names (for real :( ). He totally don't believe me. Again, he gave me 9/20 for my third lab report. :(

I'm going to get another C for the challenging molecular bio class if I don't get 100% on the final. That class is so difficult. With the help of my kind teacher, my grade just raised from F- to C. Now, I need to get a B to compensate for the C of that intro genetic course. It's so beyond my reach:(

I'm so frustrated now. :(

hey guys, anyone know how much UCLA cares about grades in classes that are not uc-transferable to meet the provisional contract? If grades during the final semester are over a 3.0 without taking into account a non-uc transferable class, do you think it should be a big deal?

starting to get worried....

bump.

Shy538,
I do not believe the UCs count non UC transferrable credit.
In my case, UCLA did not accept a CSU transferrable math class to fulfill my admissions requirement. I mean didn't even consider it and I am now taking a UC transferrable summer class so I can begin UCLA in winter 07.

Shirley,
Did you have to maintain a B avg.? Because if UCLA did not specify a certain gpa, don't worry about it. C is passing, and hopefully your genetic teacher comes to their senses and gives you more credit before submitting the final grade. wish you luck :)

Buerre,
thanks for the reply :)

I actually sent UCLA my grades for the fall on their provisional contract update form, and they replied the next day and said my admission is not affected. They ask you to let them know if you get three C's, and I did, but one of them was not UC transferable, and the other was just a 1/2 unit P.E. class. A counselor at my CC actually told me yesterday that the UCs literally cross out any classes that are not UC transferable...they don't consider them AT all. I clearly overreacted, but i wanted to make sure. I didn't go to UCSD two years ago because my admission was rescinded after a D during my senior year, so I'm paranoid. haha. I'm happy though. I'm glad I didn't go to UCSD after all, because UCLA is where I really wanted to end up :)

^ I hear you. At first I was considering on going to UCSD because I thought that I had no chance at being accepted to UCLA. To my surprise, I received an that acceptance letter and I was in complete awe. Little did I know that I would end up proving myself wrong.

Buerre, thx so much.
My mad genetic teacher suddenly gave me a B. It's so weird. I asked him if I could get a B 2 days b4 the final, and he just said, "probably not" and "I don't know".
I'm still waiting for the grades of phys and bio. :( I 'm on the B/C borderline for phys, and I won't get a B for bio for sure. I really wish I could get that B for my phy class. So my gpa will be dropped by 0.01 only
No, ucla didn't specify a B average for spring.

I wanna cry now. cuz I've just got my phys grade online, and I found out I need 3 more points to get a B!!!holy crap!!!And I have a 5-point homework that my f***ing phy teacher refused to give me 5 points, cuz I stapled 2 chapters of hw together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll wait for him at the record office!

Congrats on the grades, Shirley! I wouldn't worry about the C if UCLA has not given you a gpa req., you'll be starting over with a new gpa in september, so why sweat it?

but if you really want that B, good luck w/ your appeal.
and see, the spring term didn't turn out bad at all. :)

UCLA stated that you had to maintain your gpa. Although I've almost 100 of units and 2C's won't lower my gpa much, but I'm so worried about my admission will be rescinded because of the 2C's. I chose UCLA over UCI cuz my genetic teacher mistold me that I got a B at first, so I though I was getting 2B's and 1C. He told me I was getting a C right AFTER I sumbitted SIR to UCLA!!!!It almost drive me crazy. I could have ended up with 3C's and needed to file a grade change report!

I had never cared about my grade that much until this semester, even at the beginning of this spring, cuz I thought I went to UCR. The pressure became greater and greater towards the end. I calculated and predicted my grade almost EVERYDAY! I argued with teachers where has my 0.5 points gone. I asked my teachers for grade almost every week. Every point is so hard to get, and getting a B is so mission impossible.

This semester is the worst EVER!

FINALLY, I GOT a B! I found his home email address in the summer schudule. When I asked him how to contact with him last week, he just didn't tell me! He **es at me for not trying hard even in the email! He's so mean!!Most of my classmates who take molecular bio with me eventually dropped the course and took this phys only. I TRY HARDER THAN ANYBODY ELSE. F him. Other people just have alot of free time to attend lectures and get a lot of extra credit.

Shirley,
I know it was a tough semester, but 2 Bs were ultimately not out of reach. :) I had a tough spring as well. totally worked myself into a tizzy and even dropped one class -- but, :) I have received 1 B and 2 As for my final grades. looking back, i'm kinda thankful to have had this tough semester, it was my first. good luck in the fall!

i have 10 more days to wait .... blah blah blah.

u guys still have school? mine ended a month ago
