Pending after notifying UCLA of a dropped class.

but what if i cant do my planned coursework due to it being unavailable in my school.

thanks for the info buerre... appears that it took the 2-4 days to change ur site... hmm...

Let us know what happens... thanks.

...then you should prolly include that in the e-mail or form. ;)

I've been waiting since Friday too. I got a W in my physics class last quarter. Berkeley was fine with it so I'm hoping UCLA will be too. I've yet to decide where to go; waiting for UCSD.

ee_stu, did you get a W for "electrics and magnet... physics course?" or "modern physics?"

ee_stu was that class part of ur major prereqs?

Definitely, Engineering requires almost all calculus based physics.

Lol, believe it or not, I aced E&M. I got a W in "thermoD, waves, optics" since I was lazy. I was actually planning on going to my local CSU so I slacked off, but their financial aid package sucked. I'm intent on transferring to a UC now so I'm serious now. I'm taking 22 units on a quarter system at my local CC. I was also honest and wrote all this down when I updated the W with UCLA.

And yes, that physics class was a major prereq. I'm an EE major.

Modern physics, I will take in this summer quarter. So is modern physics as difficult as E&M? I thought E&M was the hardest of the series?

I guess i'll hear by May 21st. I have a bad feeling about this though. :(

Here is the email that they sent me after I notified them of my error. The thing that confuses me is that there is no specific date or period stated that they will contact me if my acceptance will be rescinded or not.

Dear Applicant,

We have received your email and will update our records accordingly. If we
have any questions, we will contact you.

Thank you

hey ee_stu, in our CCC, mechanics is first follows by thermal dynamics and then E&M and last is modern physics... how comes you finish E&M before you take thermal one? I heard that modern physics is mostly about Einstein idea of relativity and quantum mechanics where you study the modified exact mechanics... classical mechanics solutions are considered approximations, not really the exact true answers.

nikkei, it's within 15 days.

kevin101, my CCC has mechanics-->E&M-->thermD...-->modern physics

im in the same situation. but i dropped a course that was for my pre reqs, its physics for my psych major BUT im going to CAL and they already said it doesnt matter if i dropped it since they dont require it for thier pre reqs so GO BEARS

I'm failing a bio class that is for pre-req. :( The semester will end in June, shall I call ucla if I can drop this class? :(

I think you're expected to pass all your classes with at least a C. What will be your reason for dropping the class? I don't know if they'll agree to let you drop because you're failing..

ya make up an excuses

I don't know whether I should drop or not. I got F- in the first exam(43/80), but after counting the lab reports and a lab exam, I'm getting 65%, which is a D. This week I screwed up the 2nd exam. I don't know my grade yet, I can predict it'll be pretty bad tho. :(
I had never got F- until this class! And I glimpsed the grade sheet of my whole class for a while, I saw 60% in my class were getting D. It's the hardest class in my cc life.:(

And I fed up another physics class too. My teacher is a ! He gave us a sample test and told us which questions would be in the exam. But it turned out all the questions that he said they wouldn't appear in the exam were appeared! All! f*. He really wants us to have our admissions taken away.

Here are some options:

1) Find out if your instructor curves when the class average is low. Then work hard to be in the higher end of the spectrum.

2) Drop the class w/o a grade recorded. But you will really risk your admission even if you have a good excuse. In this case...

3) Stay in the class and work extremely hard. Do you have any other class that you are taking but not required? Maybe you can ask UCLA if you can drop that instead so you can concentrate on your bio class. I wonder if UCLA will agree to this though, unless maybe you are taking more than units than a full-time load.
