Pending Application = Scholastically Q'd?

As some of you have probably heard me say, I haven't had any word from the academy since September. Application was finished October 1st, however, no scholastically q'd letter was received, nor an LOA.

Concerned with hearing nothing, I e-mailed my BGO on Friday to ask if there was any update, and according his information, my application is still pending.

Because my application was finished in October, I'm pretty sure they've reviewed it by now. From what I've heard, if they find a file that is scholastically unqualified, that person is rejected. So, my question is, because I am still "in the running" at this point in the BGO information system, does that mean I am scholastically q'd? (A BGOs thoughts would especially helpful).

I'm running on speculation because I feel contacting the regional director or admissions directly seems inappropriate.

Thanks again for any input.

Unless things have changed (and a BGO can comment on this), then the following applies to board qualification:

Qualified

Rejected

Deferred

Not Reviewed

You probably fall under #3. Presumably, the board wants to wait and see (i.e. review other candidates) before they make a decision about you.

All candidates who have been found to be academically qualified receive a letter from the academy. What that means in your particular situation I would not know.

Several mids and candidates have said they received appointments w/o ever getting a scholastically q'd letter.

Then I guess the best response to any question on this board is that "who knows". Every candidate I know personally received letters. So who knows. I guess it is'nt over until July 2nd and you are not there.

Jadler - If I'm the #3 case, hopefully that doesn't mean I've been waitlisted. Heh.

Hopefully a BGO can comment as to whether the "Pending" status has any more details on their system, if it's vague like the DoDMERB status.

To be waitlisted, you have to be qualified by the admissions board.

Simayan, jadler is correct on all accounts. However, it is slightly possible that you are Case 4 above.
