hey everyone...

not really a hopeful here…more like a wretched individual hoping against reason for anything other than a rejection…

i feel you on that one

hey, that’s how I felt before I got accepted RD. last thing I expected. don’t give up!

did you apply ED?

UGH I JUST WANT TO BE ACCEPTED INTO UPENN! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?!

lol sorry. but ugh yeah, definitely a penn class of 2014 hopeful here… i just wish my numbers werent so low for the penn “average”… =(

My grades and tests scores are fine; I really think my EC’s aren’t going to be enough though. But I’ll apply ED and see what happens.

im a sucky standardized tester :(

same here chocolate25.

I’m having problems with standardized tests as well. My ECs are fine. :(

gpa was in the dumps soph. year…everything else is fine :(

nope - I only applied regular decision.

all i can tell you guys is FOCUS ON YOUR ESSAYS.

any advice?

im sure youve heard this before, but essays are extremely important. my friend got into stanford who has a mediocre profile, but she wrote amazing essays. i, on the other hand, over edited my stanford essays, so they didnt sound as genuine. for penn and my other schools, i wrote brutally honest essays that really exemplified my voice. i wasnt afraid to get personal. take time to think about your essay, dont overedit, and write what you want to write, not what you think adcoms want to hear. i dont know what else to say or if i even articulated my point across well enough haha, but if you have any questions feel free to ask.

in support of the above post:

I wrote a brutally honest, almost offensive essay to Wharton with the intention of getting a rejection and going on with life. I’m now going into Wharton as a Joseph Wharton Scholar. Give them all you got!
