Hey fellow UPenn hopefuls. I looked around the forum and saw we didn't have a thread to discuss regular decision at the wonderful University of Pennsylvania.

Let's talk about hopes/where we're applying/stuff about ourselves since we're all in the same boat. It's going to be a long 3-4 months, so might as well kick back and have some fun.

I applied to Penn for M&T with SEAS as Option #2. UPenn isn't my top choice, but if I got in for M&T, that would be tough to turn down. The university seems like the nicest place to be though: great atmosphere, programs, students, etc.

Hi! I finished my app to Arts and Sciences two days ago. I really loved Penn when I visited - great campus, exciting atmosphere, amazing academics, etc. - but it also was not my top choice

I’ll be applying to Arts and Sciences. I love Penn, but it’s not my first choice. I got deferred EA from MIT, my first choice. I’m also applying to the Ivies except Dartmouth and Harvard, stanford, chicago, tufts, boston u, northeastern, johns hopkins, and carnegie mellon.

hello all
I am applying to Arts & Sciences as well. I was thisclose to applying to Huntsman, but I really don’t have that much of a business interest, despite my strong interest in int’l relations, not to mention my math grades and scores are less than stellar. So, I thought I would highlight my strengths with CAS instead. I’m also applying to Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, Cornell, Duke and Amherst and was accepted to UChicago EA.

Hey guys, I’m applying to Wharton. I was deferred from Yale EA.
I did the optional essay, but it was a copy-paste from another one of my essays that fit the prompt. Do you know when notifications are?

Helloooo! I’m done with my app to CAS, and I’m just letting it sit for a day before I edit/send it off. I actually thought the p. 217 was super easy, and I just used an essay I had written for another supplement for it. Anyhoo, Penn isn’t my top choice (applying to all Ivies except Cornell, Chicago, NU, Rice, Duke, Georgetown, state school), but I’d definitely be excited to be able to consider it one of my options!

heyy guys, i FINALLY sent in my penn application last night ( !!! ) and keeping my fingers crossed for the best. my scores arent stellar but penn is definitely my top choice and would really like to see all of you around the quad and locust walk! and maybe even in front of the button haha

also, is it just me or is not a lot of people majoring in BBB anymore? because i applied to CAS with hopes of majoring in BBB. anyway, good luck to all of you!

What makes you say people don’t major in BBB anymore? I’m not really into that stuff but BBB seems like a program that a lot of people would like.

I’m applying to Jerome Fisher M&T; I’m pressing submit tonight! Anyways, I’m annoyingly posting an advert asking for people to read my M&T essay :). Any takers? (PM)

I did the page 217 it’s super short, and it was the easiest essay for me to write. I think you just need to find the right inspiration.

@wangatang I second the idea! - after all, I do own my own screen printing business.

that’s what I thought! I’m applying to CAS with BBB selected as my major. I finished the pg 217 yesterday, and I just had fun with it. Everyone who read it said that it was very interesting, so I’m hoping that will help my app. I’m writing the communities essay now, and I’m actually having a lot more trouble with it. I hate essays where you have to sell yourself rather than make a point. Good luck on all your apps! hope to see you guys in the fall!

Huntsmanite hopeful here! Second choice school is Wharton.

I’ve finished all essays. None of them is particularly long and I think my communities one is…risky, I guess? Not the usual I like this and this and that but I’m hoping it won’t be taken in a negative sense, I was just trying to express my enthusiasm haha.
