well all my counselor did was send out a course description because she didnt want to be the judge of how a class is taught. could i write a letter and send it to penn? it would probably have less weight than if a counselor did it but i know my counselor would be happy to talk to adcoms at penn i would assume. idk, i just dont want to seem paranoid about this thing with my counselor because she thinks the course description will be enough. so could i just write a letter instead? would that be viable?

so u think if I am not applying for creative writing but science that they would not hold it against me verses someone who did

I submitted my app yesterday at 1 in the morning to CAS and I also plan on majoring in BBB. My GPA is abysmal but hopefully everything else in my application will cover that up, upenn is my first choice and i hope to see all of you guys there next fall

Is the app deadline Dec 31st @ 11:59pm, or Jan 1st at 11:59pm? Iāll probably get my stuff in today, but I just want to be safe in case I donāt.

i think its jan 1st 11:59 pm

Yeah, if the date is āJan 1st,ā they mean Jan 1st 11:59 PM. You should definitely send it before that time though!

@ dontstopbelievin - a letter from you is definitely better than nothing. Why donāt you ask your teacher to write penn a letter describing how his class is?

shes worse than my counselor. i know for a fact that she wont write me one, she wonāt even write rec letters for her students unless sheās had them for a full year. but okay, ill write them a letter. thanks An0maly!

by the way, happy new years guys :)

AHHHHHHHHHā¦
PENN IS MY #1 CHOICEEEEE.
I hope i get in. haha.
Gud luck guys! :)

actually, question. who do i write to? and would i send in a letter rather than an e-mail? because whenever i sent in an email, i never heard back from themā¦

I sent in my common app and supplement today (sent in payment a few days ago) but have not yet received the common app receipt email. Iām sure the website is getting overloaded with all of us typical Ivy-hopeful-procrastinators submitting just hours prior to the deadline. Anyone else not get an email yet like that? (Not talking about the one from Penn, the email from Common App)

Edit: Got the emails about two hours after submitting instead of instantly like usual.

happy new year every1. we have a great year ahead.
journey to upenn has begunā¦

Is anyone elseās Portal not workingā¦?

i didnt even get my portal stuff yet?

Sent my app in, good luck everybody!

actually, question. who do i write to? and would i send in a letter rather than an e-mail? because whenever i sent in an email, i never heard back from themā¦

^^just asking again cuz i dont think anybody saw the question.

my G.C made a mistake while submitting my secondary school report. Instead of writing my GPA as 3.83 she wrote it as 3.67. She has done a follow-up email. but will it even work.
fortunately, if transcript is looked atā¦the gpa for commonapp SR is clearly indicated as 3.83

wat would happen to my fate??? oh godā¦suffering from series of misfortunesā¦ donot add on top of it by not replying!!

Send a letter through snail mail with your name, birthday, and commonapp ID and just tell them whatever you need to.

I heard colleges prefer snail mail, so have your GC send a physical letter as well.

@canned_dice okay so Iām not the only one whoās portal wonāt open.

IM APPLIED TOO! just submitted my app today.

can i ask when do we get the info for our portal??? do we get it through an email like a day later?

@nelesy - Mine doesnāt open either. Good to know itās not my internet lol.

They send an e-mail, although it was a few days later for me.
