<p>Plus, when the Alumni Council on Admissions used to post legacy admissions information on the Penn web site, they stated that more than 60% of legacy applicants were NOT accepted. And like the quotation from the DP article to which “The Amazing dfree124” linked above, that was during the period when the overall Penn acceptance rate ranged from the upper teens to the low 20s. With the current 12% acceptance rate (and similarly lower ED acceptance rate), the legacy acceptance rate is also certainly lower.</p>
<p>I think the legacy pool is also to some extent, quite self-selective.</p>
