Penn 2017 ED Discussion Thread

^lol

When do we get an email about decision date?

Clever, clever.

And we’re all going a little bit loony in the process. Whee…

I agree w/ Pixels; the 7th is probably unlikely.

@foxtails - date-ception :smiley:
Although to be honest that really only sounds like a low-budget dating service

Gahhh I live in India, so I excitedly opened my email this morning expecting the Penn email. What I got instead was an email from Hult Business School (where is that?) telling me that their deadline for “VIP application” had almost passed. Big time fail

Lol well guys my sat ii scores are so bad I won’t tell them to you guys. I think it’s safe to say Penn is out of reach now. :/

My name is red…I hope that doesn’t mean anything haha.

My name in the portal is rainbow with the words “accepted” and “outstanding” around it. Does that mean anything

I was afraid you’d have to find out like this. That means you’ve gotten rejected :/

Dean Furda says so in this interview: [■■■■■ Song - YouTube](<a href=“■■■■■ Song - YouTube”>■■■■■ Song - YouTube)
Check out the link

^haha oh no the “■■■■■ Song” title was NOT supposed to show up there :P

Any internationals here?

^Here! I’m a Korean living in China. I’m applying ED to CAS

Hahahahaha Wharton3, gave me a good giggle in study hall ;D

It is now confirmed to be on 12th.

^ Eight days before, just like last year. Expect emails confirming the date to arrive later today or tomorrow (they should go out in waves).

Good luck, you guys! :)

Thank god its the 12th…Sorry for those who are expecting the 7th…
I took my sat subjects in Nov. 17th, which was supposed to be on the 1st but postponed due to Sandy…The scores are just out today! I selected Penn as my recipient when i registered sat, and regional officer replied my email saying they won’t penalize the late testing date…
Do you guys think admission officers will evaluate the late scores? I mean if they already made their decisions will these scores change anything? How much do they weight? In my case i took my math ii in may but did horrible on it since i was very very nervous and even shivering during the test. This time i got an 800 and took physics. Btw I applied to SEAS.

Thoughts please!

Has anyone got the email yet?

^I think you’ll be fine. I’m guessing that when they get your score, they’ll basically just reevaluate your file (but then again, I’m not an expert or anything on this stuff).

Admissions were well aware of the Nov 17th issue. I imagine there is no reason they couldn’t set aside the applications in which the Nov 17 test results might make a significant difference so they could do a review of them this week. It makes sense given the Dec 12th date.

My DD has also applied to SEAS ED. She has been educating her entire school for the last 3 years that her Penn is not the school in the Big Ten. (She is the first from her school ever to have applied to Penn.) Most people here could only name 1-4 Ivies, but they could cite every recent change in all the football conferences.

Good luck to all of you! Thanks also, 45 Percenter, for your forum wisdom.

You will be fine.
why would they ignore your scores.

it is so far away - 1 week- I cannot deal for a whole week

one more week and i’ll go insane…

columbia ED-ers are finding out in two days!
