on my portal it says that the decisions come out on the December 12th at 6pm? did you guys really already get your decisions? I applied to M&T and i haven’t heard anything but i wasn’t expecting an email for 165.5 hours

^We’re talking about the email notifying us of the decision date, not the actual decision lol.

Dear [omitted],

Thank you for applying Early Decision to the University of Pennsylvania. We will be posting admissions decisions for Early Decision applicants online on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 6 p.m. E.S.T.

Your decision can be viewed by going to:
[url here - don’t know if posting is against the rules]

Please bookmark this web address. You will not be able to log in until 6 p.m. on December 12.

The Decision website uses the same User Name and Password that you’ve already been using to access the MyApplicant Portal. If you need assistance with your User Name or Password, please contact the Admissions office at: eapps@admissions.upenn.edu

Sincerely,

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

If it helps, got it at 4~5pm. On the east coast. Submitted my app literally a minute before it was due - so that gets rid of the sent-by-application-time theory.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

ONE WEEK TO GO MY BRETHREN AND SISTREN.

-SEAS/MnT applicant

Hey guys, I know for a fact that I failed to submit one piece of documentation required for financial aid. Since I’m applying for Finaid and i’m an ED applicant, can i assume that if they haven’t contacted me about my missing form, that means that they are not making a financial aid package, thus didn’t get in?

Sorry if this is confusing, just wondering.

go look on your PennPortal on top it should say : School - Name - Financial or Non-financial aid applicant :)

lizmarie - I have your EXACT same issue! I am considered a “financial Aid candidate” (on the Portal), but I know for CERTAIN that I failed to submit one part of the fin aid application.

Does this mean we are for sure not accepted? Because if they accepted us, wouldn’t they need the fin aid documents completed?

@foxtails: someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the Financial Aid office is only contacted after the admissions committee finalizes their decisions. As the final committee was today, I doubt the financial aid office has waded through all the FA candidates’ files.

^Sounds like a job for the Great 45percenter!

Oh I just got the email. They are still sending them out.

I did the same thing, I think you are fine. They only require you to submit your financial aid form on the deadline if you wanted the financial aid package with the decision. Your financial aid might be delayed but it has nothing to do with your decision. My friend did the same thing and submitted a form late, he called admissions and they said not to worry.

i finally got my email at like 6:30 my time.

^So are admissions and fin aid completely detached? As in, even if I’m never contacted for more fin aid documents (having not submitted all the required documentation), I still have a chance of being accepted?

…Or not? If the latter is true, it’d be easier to know now so the blow of rejection doesn’t hurt as much come December 12th. :/

So are emails really just random? How were they sent out last year? Was it all just random or was there a correlation between acceptance and time email was sent? Man, I’m being so paranoid right now :/
