^^^ Here’s an interesting article about the impact of having a sibling at Penn on admissions: [The Daily Pennsylvanian :: Siblings get a boost in Penn admissions](Siblings get a boost in Penn admissions | The Daily Pennsylvanian).

All of the rejections/deferrals in the Dartmouth and Columbia threads are so saddening. Makes me even more nervous for Penn.

^Yeah, this is going to be a totally killer year. Ugh. Well, time to start my other essays.

It’s absolutely insane. Reading the Decisions thread for Dartmouth and Columbia is extremely disheartening. Mostly because there were so many amazing and perfectly qualified applicants rejected…

Yeah the ED’s for Dartmouth and Columbia are just killer. If these people aren’t getting in…who is?

a guy got accepted to Dartmouth with a 2070 SAT score… Dartmouth is no Wharton but I’m starting to think my 2110 won’t be killing my app after all

^To be fair, that guy was a URM too. Unless you’re URM/Legacy, it’s not really comparable.

Damn…it’s whatever though. I’ve already accepted that the odds are against me. Now, all that’s left is to hope for the best.

Btw, do any of you guys keep nervously looking back at your apps? I’ve like completely dissected mine and magnified my biggest weaknesses. It’s really not helping to calm my nerves. On the other hand, I also keep finding hope from what I consider, IMHO, my strengths.

i believe north african is an URM… or at least i hope so

@Wharton3: Yup.

I promised myself I wouldn’t look at Dartmouth’s and Columbia’s ED threads. And then I did. And now I’m sad.

Six days.

^They’re quite depressing. And they just go to show how arbitrary admissions can be.

Which one would be tougher, ED Penn or ED Columbia?

@pennyoony
ED Columbia is tougher for everything but most Penn Dual Degree Programs / Wharton

God lol. sigh I hoped that my ECs/2340 SAT would compromise for my gpa… but after seeing Dartmouth/Columbia threads… i’ve basically lost all hope xD. Rejection here we come -_-’

Columbia’s ED acceptance rate, as of last year, is 23%. Penn accepted 26% of their students last year.

However, they already said this year that Penn is capping the ED acceptances at 1,200 kids. There were 4,795 early decision applicants. That’s a 25% acceptance rate for Penn.

Don’t be too disheartened, but be ready for an equally harsh admissions decision for us…

Thank you guys!
This week has been the most anxious week in my life…
I just started crying when i was on the Columbia decision thread seeing so many people being rejecred T.T

Guys i am actually like frantically scared. I can’t stop biting my nails and eating my feelingggssss ahhhh kill meee i can’t wait 6 days

Don’t stress over it so much. Penn’s decision, whatever it is, will not change your life. You’ve fallen too hard for the marketing tactic.

after seeing the columbia ED results… I’m getting worried too :(

^^^ lizmarie - I have the exact same problem!! Such bad nervous habits though :(
