LSM. I doubt he’s going to get in but when they compare our GPA/classes/test scores, it won’t paint too pretty a picture.

^Crap…that’s what I’m applying to as well. Haha oh well…

Thank god most the best students in our school go Oxbridge, less competition for US.

My friend, who spent a summer @ Penn, asked an admissions officer. They said that the regional admissions officer is the first to read your application, regardless of which school you applied to. After that, they split the applications up by school. That’s where decisions are made. So if you’re applying from a school with 14 people, you’re compared to them in the first round in the context of your school.

But it doesn’t really affect your decision until you reach committees, where you are compared to other applicants by school (CAS, SEAS, Wharton, Nursing).

No way! Yes! :d

I used to come here and really learn some good stuff. Lately, it’s really transformed into the equivalent of a funny farm. I guess this is better than patiently waiting for the decisions to arrive. Anyone know a good joke?

Don’t be dissin’ the benefits of any type of farm there, Madaboutx.

^ >_< omgomgomg……

Yea ok no way I’m gettin in.

–and the sh1t hits the fan.

It seems like they really tried to admit as many as they could. The cap set for ED was 1200 and they admitted 1196.

Oh, ye of little faith–they DID accept 50 more ED applicants than last year.

I realllllllyyyyy want to know how many students were accepted into each school. As a CAS applicant I think that it would make me feel much better since CAS is the largest school and it isn’t Wharton.

Please dear god let me be one of the 1196…

Seeing the numbers makes me want it even more. Ugh.

I would guess that they accepted roughly 49% of the target class size across the board. So, e.g., given a target class size of around 1600 for CAS, they probably accepted around 780 or so into CAS through ED, give or take. Just a rough guess, though.

Haha, I guess we shall find out soon enough.

Since we’ve done all that we can, I think this is the part where we pray (whether or not you believe in it).

as an URM, the “broader diversity” got me feeling more confident…

out of curiosity, how many people do you guys think had a 2100+ SAT score with at least a 1400 on CR+M? because although I don’t think test scores make or break an application, they’re pretty important and I believe at least 30% of the people who applied have an SAT score between 1800-high 2000s
