Penn App. - Q & A!

This may sound strange... but do I count my 26- and 30-year-old brothers as "children" in the family info section?

yea probably

okay. so I'm pretty sure the financial aid form for penn, as well as the fafsa, are written in swahili.

yep. that's why i gave them to my dad. :)

my dad doesnt speak swahili :(
he just yells at the papers.

lol i made the mistake of doing all my fin. aid stuff by myself...no jokes, it took me longer to do than my penn app. I spent about a good 5 hours trying to figure out what it wanted, 10 hours filling it out, and another 3 hours making numerous copies of every damn supplement and writing my name, social security number, and birthdate on EVERY SINGLE PAGE. I was better off not even applying to fin. aid after all that

were we supposed to mail our tax forms?

yea i think so, we had to include all business and farm supplements took. We also had to send the Collegeboard CSS profile. However, fafsa's not due till like Feb. 1. Did you not send them lamp?

Does the awards section include athletic awards you have received?

Yeah, why not. They're awards. It might be beneficial to break down awards by type

ooh it's afa, my asian buddy lol

IS ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ONLINE AP WEBSITE?

I did my app online about...two weekends ago. Saved it. Planned to come back to it later to proof read and resent TONIGHT. Logged in and ALL MY SPACES ARE BLANK.

FIVE HOURS OF WORK GONE. awesome. This weekend keeps getting better and better.

HEY cujoe, i def hope you get in =)

lol... if i don't man... it's a trip down to the admissions office... chuck norris style... by that i mean roundhouse kicks all around

okay, i did part one via mail and part two online. the directions on the online app say you can skip part one online and jump directly into part two, but it says it will not let me submit part two online until part one is submitted online.

jigga what?

Hey,

Its December 17th. Do you guys think its to late to start applying to universities for fall 2006 ?? I think not, but deadlines are like, in 2 months. PLus since im canadian , i have to take SAT or ACT, and send them to the schools.

Is UPenn extremely hard to get into. I havent created a cure for cancer and im not a top athelete. Do i still have a shot with good grades, good scores , a few ecs and a great essay ? Or is it all about special crazy things .

Thanks

When I wrote my essay on Works Word Processor is was one page but the UPenn Online site doesn't accept the format from Works so I copy and pasted it to Notepad and uploaded it. I just checked it online to see how it looked uploaded, and it was a page and a half.

Should I cut some things out of my essay? Right now the word count is at 478, should I really cut it down?

Bre: Try to see if your local library has Microsoft Word...transfer the Notepad text to a Word document and then upload. 478 seems like a good word count, so I wouldn't cut it.

I had a question about that. The application doesn't state a word count for the essays but is there one? I would really like to know just in case I didn't catch it. Thanks.

this might sound really stupid, but on the teacher recs, where it asks for the teacher's information (name, email, etc) it also asks for "grades earned." what does this mean??
