cool, me too.

I think I'm doing
First experiences can be defining. Cite a first experience you have had and explain its impact on you.

I'm gonna talk about the first time I visited the American Museum of Natural History, and how it inspired me to enroll in an anthropology course at Brown University.

I hope I'm not the only one doing this essay... That might look bad.

I'm doing that one as well... except I'm talking about how some had changed me... it was a first experience btw

you know....they only look at how you write the essay...not the credibility of it..........;)

that's true, but it's easier to write something that actually happened...

Why would you lie in your essay? That's basically the only chance you have to really convey to the admissions officers an aspect of your personality and who you are besides a book worm.

This Question has been bugging me for weeks.

I got a 34 on the ACT - 29e 35m 35r 35s

I got a 2130 on SAT 770 v 670m 680w
SAT II- 700 Literature, 690 Math I, 680 US Hist.

What should I submit ?
Just the ACT ? Both?
I believe that if you send in the SAT I you must include SAT II
Do you think that if I send only the ACT, they will think I'm hiding something?

Any responses will be appreciated.

I'm not saying you should lie! you should just..spruce it up a bit. You don't have to do any extra research, but if you portray your point, it wouldn't matter.

I keep hearing that there is a supplemental rec! Where can I find that? It didn't come with the paper app they mailed me...

Thanks in advance.

iamgrumpyed:

the supplemental rec is optional, if u know someone who can speak favorably of you, u can just give him/her an addressed/stamped envelope and ask him/her to write a letter, no form necessary.

where does it talk about the optional rec? i cant find anything about any optional rec

me neither

I have a question, I am sending in a rec from my marketing teacher/DECA advisor and my H. Civics and Economics Teachers as well as my AP Government and Politics teacher.

Will it be okay to send it from these 3 (I know only 2 are required)? I don't know how much of a weight an honors calss teacher and regular level class will have.

Thanks

I believe quite a few people send in an extra rec so its good.

How far are people in the application process? How are the essays coming? I have a draft of a why penn essay which is very uninspiring (I am having difficulty writing something meaningful in a page when I have a ton to talk about). Going to get started on the first experiences essay tomorrow.

I haven't started :( but I am going to start either tomorrow or Saturday evening and complete all the basic parts and hope to have a few rough draft essays done by Sunday evening. I am then going to get recs next week and send the application in about 2 weeks. I hope things go well for me and for you as well :)

Wish me luck and the same to you :)

i'm applying via the common app and my essay for that is going through final editing. nothing for why penn/autobio yet :(

good luck to everyone...hope we all get in :)

Yesterday I brainstormed some essay ideas and one of them is looking good. I am hoping to finish my first draft by sunday and then have it proofread by some of my teachers/friends.

Question: In part B, you can't list more than 7 APs. I have 8 APs (4 already taken and 4 this year). So how should I list them all? Or am I just restricted to 7?

i thought you were only supposed to list aps you've already taken?

Really? I noted them in the AP section because in the current course section it says: "A.P./I.B. course and test information should be placed in the next subsection." So I think they do want current AP courses listed in that part. I will try and contact them to find out.

If someone gets accepted in early decision, does that person gets any response about the financial aid he/she will be getting or is it just accepted, denied or waitlisted kind of reply?
