to the vast majority of the deferred people, penn was definately their first choice and maybe a slight reach. unless they now hate penn for deferring them (read: dulce) there's a good chance they will matriculate if accepted.

no, they will not accept more deferred applicants than regular applicants. it's not logical. deferred applicants are not randomly inserted into the regular applicant pool. Deferred files are looked after reviewing regular files.

MyChainDownLow, are you 100 percent sure that they look at deferred applicants AFTER the RD ones, not at the same time? I am just curious because I was wondering if they were viewed separately or literally "thrown" into the RD pool.

I think the RD files should get a priority to be looked at first, before moving onto the ED ones. I mean, after all, it's a second reading for the ED applications....

They look at deferred applicants after RD ones.

Everyone - deferred applicants are NOT looked at after the RD applicants. They are all thrown together in ONE pool and looked at at the SAME time.

good god thank you whartonadvisor for getting rid of the ridiculous speculation. but yea, RD competition is going to be fierce this year, and i am saying this as a deferred ED applicant. god help me get in, as i surely would accept in a heartbeat. hopefully the letter i sent them gets my interest across and hopefully my midyear grades are seriously considered, because i have beastly grades this year :)

but yea, honestly good luck to all you guys that applied RD, and to those deferred. i know most of the people on CC are extremely qualified and thus most of you truly do deserve a spot at a top college such as Penn. wishin myself and you guys the best! :)

Thanks Donald Trump and your stupid popular show! Because you keep boasting about Wharton, I got deferred!
