My prediction: rejected at Huntsman, accepted at college.

I agree with your prediction

I wouldn't count on getting into The College, your EC's are rather bland...You do have a decent shot, but don't count on it...

I make my youth group sound plenty exciting in my essay.

And come on, bland? Sorry for not building houses in Guatemala.

I agree that building houses in Guatemala is not a requirement...but even though your EC's are quite good, and the passion and dedication you put into them is what counts, they may not stand out as particularly unique or interesting in Penn's applicant pool. You may still very well get accepted, all I'm saying is due to the fierce competition don't expect the College to be a lock...
Your scores and grades are great though, and the legacy will certainly help...

Well, I figure that I'm good enough to get in anyway, and the legacy is that little extra edge to make it closer to a sure thing.

Additionally:
I also had an on-campus interview (because of my legacy) and an alumni interview. Then I sent some thank you notes.

...for what it's worth.

Oh, and I go to a nice private school, with no one else applying to Penn ED.

You shouldn't be too cocky about anything, double legacy is great but he's right, you don't have stellar extracurriculars.

Are there any awards you've gotten, or proof of non-academic merit?

You're pretty pompous; I mean you're practically oozing with hubris...You may be accepted to Penn, but even an Ivy League school can't teach you how to be a good person (that's something you have to learn on your own; and, in the end, it's really all that matters). Although, I must admit, your persona fits the description of the typical snake-oil salesman rather well so you'll be the perfect businessman :).

I don't think I'm excessively arrogant. I want you guys to know the whole picture, and I've taken particular note of the "Those ECs Are Weak" thread. Sorry if I came across as snake-oily.

Plus, prospectiveMD, I did predict that I won't get into Huntsman. Hubris? Well, that's kind of mean.

uh... prospectiveMD, your username seems more pompous and full of hubris than what VivaLaCollege has written down... ha ha jk. But anyway, yeah, in all seriousness, they're right in that your ECs are not the best - you should have tried to run on board for all the orgs you were in. That would have helped. But I thinks with the double legacy you may be a shoo-in with your grades.
