yeah I have a friend in Wharton right now(freshman, or at least she just finished freshman year), and is a finance major. She said that you take the actual "business/finance" courses starting sophomore year. Freshman year she took econ, opim, management 101.

Anyone Else Applying To Wharton?

325 People Applied.. Common People, There Has To Be More Of You Guys/girls Out There.

hey alan, how did you land those ecs and interships? they are awesome. you are my new idol - at least for the next 15 minutes.

Let's not give allengrenspan#1 more credit than he deserves--after all, he hasn't been admitted yet. If he get admitted, more power to him. But for now I seem him using this board as a soapbox to brag about his credentials.

...ew stop.

it's been 15 minutes anyways.

I guess we have to wait till Monday for decisions now. Oh well.

hi alangreenspan#1, are you talking about me?
i'm sure that your stat is much greater than mine, i'm intl' student so they may look at it differently
good luck~

I got my job at Bear, Stearns & Dow Jones by a reference that I had at NYU.

I took summer classes at Harvard, so naturally I took advantange of that and contacted some professors.

My mentor (former chief econ at ML) works closely with the people from the Federal Reserve and the council of economic advisors.. so I applied to the CEA one.. knowing that it was one of the most prestigious econ internships out there.. they interviewed me and then unexpectedly.. I got it!.. I didn't expect it at all because I was only 7 out of 3000 applicants selected.

yea, Kobe it's you.. it's harder to get in as a transfer if you are int'l.. more kudos to you.

I got cocky and didnt really update UMich that much about my progress.. so maybe that was a factor ahhahaa.

lotrfan33, you're right ahahahhaa..

ANYONE ELSE APPLY TO WHARTON?

I'm applying to Wharton. I really don't expect to get in. Too bad I can't send in my final grades. I pulled my B+ in Calc II at midterms up to an A (I was a journalism major my first 3 semesters and wasn't required to take math courses, so it took me a while to get used to it again). And I got an A in financial accounting. Both of those two courses were pre-req's. Still waiting on three grades, two of which I'd be shocked if they weren't A's and one that should be an A or A-.

The big problem is I'm applying as a junior. Three of the courses I'm taking are pre-req's (required or recommended). They won't see the final grades for those before they make a decision. And I'm still short a semester of accounting and a semester of statistics (neither are required, but both are recommened).

I'm applying to Wharton as well. I applied from a community college where I took engineering courses because that is what I felt I wanted to do after graduating high school. I have a pretty low mark in chemistry and had that mark at the midterm, but I'm hoping UPenn will show me mercy because chem isn't really related to their curriculum and I'm changing majors. Over the summer I had taken economics courses so I will be able to transfer both of those as well as the calculus requirement, composition (unless they require you to do it there), and their computer class (I think). Other than that the rest would be electives.

I checked over on both the CC archives and the PrinctonReview forums and it looks like the posters historically got their decisions about the 11th.

I'm still going to check over the weekend though. Hopefully they're working overtime, but I doubt it. haha

azrioch, I think the admissions office is open on Saturdays, so who knows, we could receive decisions today!

:O

I hope so.

Good Luck everyone!:)

Did everyone else get their log in information to the decisions website? I still have not received it yet...

you can request it in their website by entering your e-mail

I tried - nothing was sent. If I don't receive it by Monday, I guess I will call them.

Anyone else heard from Penn?
