Also, btw, does UAO send applications to each college? or do they make decision in UAO?

Does each college at Penn have its applicants' data? or do they receive that data when one is accepted?

That's an interesting question, Philbert... Guess there's no way we can find out :P

So from where are you folks transferring?

MIT, because I'm sick of ugly girls.. well, it's not like Penn girls are any prettier.

There's more beer, and that makes them prettier ;-)

Not when you wake up in the morning. =T

No Philbert, I didn't tell them that I got into Dartmouth. I'm going to email them later on tonight and ask if they can expedite the decision. I'll let you know how that goes.

JohnnyK, I'm transferring from the University of Florida.

You are not at MIT.

I asked for an expedited decision and was told that they don't do that. They recommended sending my deposit elsewhere to hold a spot, while waiting for their decision. But, hopefully you'll have better luck Eddie. I'm expecting my decision on Friday, so it probably won't matter that they don't expedite.

Did someone told you that you should be expecting decision this Friday?

No, but they e-mailed me earlier in the week and said they were reviewing my application and asked me to e-mail them some additional information about myself. I'm assuming that means I should know this Friday......unless for some reason they take more than a week to make a decision. Errrr

I got an email from an Undergraduate Advisor at the Wharton School saying that I was accepted, but soon another email came saying that the previous message was in error. Should I be expecting the decision tomorrow as well?? How does the system works? I am so confused.

This is email I got:

Dear XXX,
May 1st has come and gone but we havent heard from you yet! If you have already decided where you will be attending college, congratulations! However, since we havent received your reply card yet, I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know whether or not you will be attending Wharton next year (but please still send in your card whether you have chosen Penn or not!). In addition, if you havent done so already I would also really appreciate it if you filled out our Admitted Student Survey online at
If circumstances have prevented you from making your decision, please let me know and I will help you in any way that I can.
It has been great getting to know all of you. I hope you enjoy the next four years no matter where you have chosen to go to school!
Thank you!
Associate Director
Wharton Undergrad Division.

The following is another email I got:
The previous message that you received regarding admissions was sent to you in error. Please disregard it as it was intended for freshman applicants to our Class of 2009.
All correspondence regarding your transfer admissions status will be from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

How an advisor in Wharton know my email and name? mysterious

I got the same e-mails - it is from someone who is on the admissions committee for Wharton, so I think they just sent it out to the wrong e-mail list or something....

I didn't get those emails. It very well could be a good sign for you guys.

ajl4, I got an email from Penn asking for additional information on May 2nd and I have yet to hear from them. I wish you better luck in that department; I plan on emailing them tomorrow with the request for a quick decision. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the information, and good luck to you.

Also after reading the emails you received, I am pretty sure it was a mistake (May 1st Reply Date) but it may be a good sign. I would probably be "cautiously optimistic" about your chances; regardless of the emails significance, good luck and I hope it's a good omen.

Just curious, what are these emails saying when they ask for more info, like they didn't receive something, or they want updated info or more recs, etc? I haven't heard anything and I got my letter the end of April with my login info but yet to hear when to access the decision....just getting a little nervous I think. Well, best of luck to all. Stay positive!

well, it's about mid-May

well, this time last week they had that 12:30 message posted...oh well?

Maybe they're still reviewing for today and are going to release decisions at 5:00pm.

may be this week is not the one ///

sigh...
